I just got my earth/storm controller to 50.  I was hoping to see some other heroes builds so I can get an idea of how to slot/enhance him.

I don't run that anymore, but I have one simple suggestion times three:

Force Feedback proc in EQ, Tornado, and LS

 

Also, Stoney's main purpose is tanking, so put all 4 pet defense/resist IOs in him. Adding a bit more damage isn't as important as making him tougher. I'd finish with a SoulBound Damage and an Acc/Dam IO or Hami-O to get more out of him, but the defensive portion is the most important.

 

Also, you don't need more control, you want more damage, so slot up Fossilize with damage procs.

This is sound advice.  Have you picked an Epic.  Mine was and is Stone. Seismic Smash is very potent melee attack and for me Fissure is another stun to go with Stalagmites and Thunderclap as my build rarely uses Hurricane and focuses on stunning the mob(s) into oblivion.  Plus it will hold another FF proc.

 

And sorry only internet is this phone so unable to post/view Mids' or get in game currently.

 

Totally blows I find HC and the computer up and keels over ☹ 3 months later ... the universe hates me.

One of my favorite builds.  I went the acrobatics route instead of clarion.  I took nerve agility for the defense buff boost which gets me to softcapped for melee and ranged.  There are other options.

 

It plays beautifully but solo is a slow burn.  On teams it's fantastic.

 

Pop stone cages before stalagmites otherwise they'll go flying.

 

Have not looked at the new IO sets but there may be changes I can do.  That being said, I love him just the way he is.

Here's the build I use. I drop Volcanic Gasses because I just wasn't ever using it and replaced it with Thunder Clap, which, though it has a lower mag than most controller stuns, stacks with them. Also I love the Thunder Clap animation. It has half the rechage of Stalagmites, so I use it pretty frequently. Its safe, too, because of the faceplant loop that FR+EQ+Tornado will put everything in. I am quite fond of KB->KD enhancements, as this build shows, but they do a great job of actually letting you control. Some judicious use of Hurricane can help keep mobs grouped tightly to be AOE'd down. This build is capable of substantial solo damage, mostly single-target, but still surprising when I first finished it. Seismic Smash on a controlled target is not to be underestimated. I was able to solo my Mender Ramiel missions with only a little trouble on the last mission (I think I died twice?).

 

This doesn't include incarnates in the build. I went with Intuition Radial for the debuff enhancements and damage buff, Reactive Core for the resistance debuff (something the set doesn't have natively, but you can slot and add this to get some of), Ion Core Judgement (of course, lightning, and also damage, don't really care about the extra control chance on a controller), Clarion Core Destiny (finally some mez prots), I've got Banished Panthon and Storm Elemental Lore pets both, BP for somewhat more hardcore material and Storm Elementals because... more storm. Finally I went with Support Core for Hybrid slot.

Curious, they shouldn't go flying, the power has no knock*.  Stagger around some perhaps ... cages is probably a good idea anyway but I'd probably use it after my alpha.

For my build only Doom... for my build only.  To get the ranged defense I went 6 slot with stupefy.  It has a KB proc in it.

Yeah, I love the set bonuses on Stupefy, but turning Stuns into KB powers when you want them as openers is annoying, so I usually use a Controller/Dominator ATO set in there rather than Stupefy, since it also has a Recharge/Ranged Defense combination. And I don't use it in the Holds since I slot them up as damage powers, so putting the set into a Stun works fine for me.

Yep, I don't need it as an opener and at the time I built this, I don't think I was really using a lot of ATOs.  One of the best things about this game is there's so many ways to build and play it.  The other two builds look very nice too.

 

I typically go with stone cages, stalag, run in and thunderclap then I bring the pain!

 

Anyway, whatever you decide to go with, enjoy it.  Or  put your spin on your own build.  There's no wrong way to eat a Resces or build a toon.  Well I guess there is.  Don't stick candy up your butt and don't 6 slot brawl.

Heck we have multiple builds.  Use them --> team build, chaos build, herdicane build, stunning build, ranged build, melee build.  More variety of builds types than build slots ... no wonder I got altitis.

Great advice everyone....really appreciate it.  I think my epic will be stone....just fits the concept.  Although I do hear good things about the set so its a win win.

You need to be really committed to the character for that though because you need to rebuy all the enhancements for your second build. At that point, I rather just roll another character and get it slotted

I get that, but either way it's another set of enhancements and the expense.  And we are talking a level 50 looking to invest, at least in this case, into a build.  That implies a certain level of commitment right there.

 

And the 2nd+ builds don't  require full IO sets either ... unless of course they are enjoying it enough to make the investment.

I think you get a pass because it's father's day.  Unless you're a woman, then it's illegal to use a pun.  Up to 6 months in prison and a 10,000 dollar fine.
