Did you want a super expensive tanky/melee one or a cheap ranged hoverblaster. Almost any combo can be made to work thats the beauty of the game. Some will simply be better than others. For Moonbeam and Gloom, they were originally slotted with Thunderstrike as well before I accumulated the influence to buy the Blaster ATO sets, and then catalyze them at 50, so that gives you a less-expensive development build (and with unslotters, you can pass the Thunderstrikes to other characters to help them out on the cheap). 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Shred Monkey Posted October 26, 2020 Share Posted October 26, 2020 I did one of these. As a hoverblaster with a heal and debuffs, it had EXTREME survivability. I was planning for it to be my "solo anything" toon. Fully built, it can easily solo GMs, but the dps is too low for soloing many 54AVs (who resist the -regen debuffs). Personally, I didn't enjoy it on teams very much. It's damage is so much weaker than other blaster options I didn't feel like I was contributing very much. That boost to survivability doesn't mean much on a team. Also, one of your best attacks is AoE knockback, so can be kind of messy on teams, anyway. The way the game is designed, DoTs need to be faster or have larger tics if they want to feel competitive to more traditional burst damage powers. Unfortunately, Dark Blast is still stuck in the past so it has low tic, long lasting DoTs instead. exChampion and exInfinity player (Champion primarily). Current resident of the Everlasting shard.
