Bring Back the 2005 Winter Event

Back in 2005, the Holiday event had Christmas themed Longbow and Arachnos contacts giving out missions called Operation Holiday Cheer and Operation Scrooge. And your hero had to go to Mercy Island and save Christmas and take back Christmas presents. And your villain had to steal presents. It was just a short one-mission event with 4 glowies.

 

Why has this never come back? I genuinely miss it, even if it was just a small little thing. Does it still exist in the old coding somewhere?

I think the last question is the big one for this - does it still exist *to* bring back.

Yep.  The server code that was eventually released to the wild was an incomplete copy of the code as it existed at that time.  (It didn't include the beta copy tool for example.)  Even if the code still existed, there's no guarantee it was included in the stolen code.

Then the best we could hope for would be to try to recreate the missions and the maps based on info from the wiki & what we remember about the mission.

The Hero mission used a custom version snow covered map of the helipad in mercy (Near where "The Next Big Thing Badge" is. (Small Map)
Once you defeated the enemies outside, you then clicked on a door that took you into an Arachnos indoor map where you had to find & recover the presents.

The Villain mission used a custom version snow covered map of Atlas Park, I remember running around under the globe & by where Ms. Liberty stands, defeating enemies.

You went inside City Hall afterwards to steal the presents.
