Im new and currently running a rad/bio brute and was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction when it comes to gearing and skill choices. Also someone told me I should have went spines instead of rad but never would explain why. hopefully all the vets can just start laying knowledge down.  :) thanks in advance

Agreed....lots of good builds in Brute subsection.

To the notion that you should have chosen Spines instead of Rad my response is...meh, play what seems fun to you. I personally like Claws but that's just me....others dislike it.  Doesnt really matter as long as you enjoy. Lots of character slots to try lots of different things.

"Play what you want" is a non-argument. If you're looking for what the best Brute build is, there are a few options depending on what you want to do. Spines/Fire is very popular for farming, for example, and SS/Regen will break faces in PVP.

Spines are the current FOTM. Play whatever you like.

I am guessing because spines has more outright AOE, rather than AOE dependent on targets contaminated. I'm not sure on that, I haven't played Rad/ to compare really.  I have played more Spines throughout the original game to get a bit tired of it, so I will suggest Staff Fighting if you want an alternative.

But really, play what you want to play. You can always be pretty and strong with Energy Armor and War Mace.

Energy Aura is actually a really good set, too. War Mace not so much, if you want to have a big mace and beat people up, there's always Soldier of Arachnos.

I'm not really a fan of either. It's a throwback to an old and humorous thread from the forums.
