solo all redside project...blaster version

Snarky

Recommended Posts

I generally solo all Redside once or twice a year.  Did one last fall on my Dark/Dark Brute.  I have only done these with Brutes.  The time has come to Blast this thing.

The setting are +0/x1, its mostly a marathon more than a weightlifting competition.  Steady enjoyment is the goal.

I am considering different concepts.  Some half demonic Fire/Elec would no doubt be smoking good.  Or....I have an alien concept that is a mesh of various fictionalized aliens.  Think Cryptosporidium from "Destroy all humans" mixed with Marvin the Martian from Looney Toons and a bit of Paul from the new alien movie.  THis would work well as either Psi/Mental, Beam/Temp, or Beam/Dev.

Or perhaps another great combo....

So, to the boards!  What would be a great marathon solo all redside blaster?

Archery/Nin, take mace mastery for Scorpion Shield.  You can softcap S/L/E and AoE and even F/C defenses.  After soloing Redside, you’ll have an effective AE farming blaster.  And it’s a very stylish blaster to boot!

Do you have a build for this? It sounds super fun.

What do you mean by "all redside"?

When I solo "All Redside" I make a list of every contact in every level range.  On lined paper.  i am old.

I then do all content for contacts in 1-5 level range.  I stop experience so I do not out level the contacts.  Once I have exhausted all these contacts I turn experience back on and continue to level 9.  repeat.

When i say "do all content" I am not just talking about the story arcs.  I do every side mission until the contact absolutely will have nothing left to offer me.  Obviously if the contact has infinite repeatable missions I move on.  I think the only one Redside that does this is actually in the RWZ, not Redside itself.

I have always done this on a Brute.  Many times on both SS/Invul and SS/Will.  Last time i ran started in mid Oct on a Dark/Dark.  (Currently my main)  I have always ran these at +0/x1 with AVs set to EBs.  I am currently toying with the Blaster idea but setting to -1/x1, AVs set to EBs. I want to explore the story and have fun.  Redside is not as hairy as Goldside but it is no walk in the park once you start encountering exotic mobs.  Don't even get me started on endless LB.  The Bank Missions alone will be a challenge if you dont kill fast, super fast on a Blaster.  Since I am a Brute player by nature I am basically taking another opportunity to examine Blaster tactics.

If I may make a non-blaster suggestion....you simply can't solo "all redside", without trying a VEAT at least once (Plus, otherwise you miss out on their unique arcs).  🙂

If you want to try something a little different than your used to, I would highly suggest a Crab Spider. Solid ranged/AoE damage, still survivable at low levels, and always appreciated on a  team with all their passive buffs.  Not the flashiest, especially at low levels when all you have is a rifle, but Crab is still a fun and pretty unique playstyle.

Excelsior

ExAstris - Arachnos Widow

Pulp Noir - Illusion/Psy Assault

Perspective - Illusion/TA

Madame Elena - Rad/Bio (Scrapper)

i 50d a crab when they first came out.  i like them, not love.  i ran one on Homecoming and incarnated it.  weirdest bug.  the backpack started showing up on new and old characters, and could not be gotten rid of.  solution, delete crab spider.

it is a great suggestion, and tempting even,  but i am not going to face that bug again, no way.

Not my build and I don't recall which forum post had it, but here's what I used.  Softcapped DEF to S/L/E and almost AOE.  If you +up a bunch of the DEF pieces you can get to AOE softcap, but as-is you are right under it.  Another way to get to AOE softcap is to swap out the 6-piece Numina's in Kuji-In Toh with 6-piece Performance Shifter.  I don't have much issues with END as-is, but @Nemu would most certainly chime in here and tell you to put END recovery in there over Regen anyways.  Up to you, the build is very sturdy, very fast, damn near unkillable and flashy as hell.

Expensive build, uses a bunch of WinterO's but I'm overstocked on those after the winter sale as it is.

I’d suggest Ice/Plant/ice. Three holds, two doing high damage, so bosses are no problem at all. Lots of AoE control, ranged nuke, and a tonne of survivability in the epic power pool. It’s a powerhouse of a solo blaster (and great in teams too).

That sounds really fun... does anyone have a build for this?
