loyalreader Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I have a Granite tank (I know Stone Armor has been revamped but this is a pet project) and was wondering if, with Granite, I still need rooted. If I could find one slot for a knockback resist proc I'd be sitting at 14 points kb resist, and a ridiculous amount of other status resists. Besides the regen I'd be missing - which seems redundant on a tank that never gets hits, has heavy resists for pretty much everything, and Earth's Embrace - I don't see the point. Am I kidding myself?
Psyonico Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Well, if you ever exemplar below 27 you're going to not have mez protection. But if your plan is to never go out of granite, then *technically* you don't need rooted. I don't think I'd skip it though. What this team needs is more Defenders
Onlyasandwich Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 (edited) Don't forget the ddr as well. One of the advantages of going granite is having plenty of extra power picks. What are you wanting in place of rooted? Rooted also protects from end drain. I can't imagine a scenario where it would be a good idea to skip given the value, even in granite, now that rooted doesn't affect movement. The Regen is not entirely irrelevant either in tougher content. It's a very healthy amount. Edited December 7, 2021 by Onlyasandwich 1

Looking at my own "granite-less" build with PLVRIZR, with Rooted on the numbers for DefDR/EndDR/RecDR are 51.9%/86.5%/86.5%. Turning it off drops them to 34.6%/0%/0%. That alone should justify keeping it...and it's available at lvl 8. That is detail I missed! Thank you. I wonder what the rationale was for retaining this debuff in granite. I wouldn't think it warranted. Edited December 8, 2021 by Onlyasandwich

Haijinx Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 you'd go from insanely unkillable to mostly insanely unkillable
