Energy Melee Rad Armour - how to perfect it for TFs and AV/GM smashing fun?

Hi CoH Family, 

 

After months of my 8 year old son making 100s (literally) of toons, he has finally settled on an EM/Rad Brute as his main. He really wants to optimise the build for TFs and GM fights.

 

While I have a little experience with both sets (my main is SD/EM tank and I have a Rad/Kat Tank) it is mostly on Tanks. I have tried to combine the two builds I have using EM and Rad to build him something that is tough but also delivers the crunch.  However the numbers I have come up with are not quite optimum.

 

Any advice or tweaks from the Build Masters would be most welcome.

Tried to respect power choices. Couldn't quite squeeze in the numbers I got from the Rad/Rad I posted a bit below but you can look at the slotting there for ideas.

 

Overall I'd say Rad/Rad might fit him better not just because of the numbers but the rotation is simple and forgiving and Irradiated Ground works passively.

He tried rad/rad and was not a fan of the attacks, but I do agree it is more of an optimised set up. We just ran Posi and Yin TFs and he is definitely in love with the crunch of EM!

 

One quick question, why the extra knockback resistance? Is that a gap in Rad, I thought Fallout Shelter was strong enough, or do I have that wrong?

Ops, my bad. I'm so used to Fire Armor I duplicated the slotting. No need for extra KB protection, distribute those slots as seen fit.
