Hello heroes. 
I have never really played a controller and have no idea where to start with this. Does anyone have a gravity storm controller build? I need some sort of starting point 🙂

Plant/Savage is extremely fun

I have an Ice/Rad that pretends its a brute

This is my current build, but it needs some work. It regens pretty good, but it also goes through Endurance pretty quickly. I'm considering some options for changes, but there is not a lot of wiggle room currently. I could maybe drop Hurricane, as it is not a power I use a lot. I do like it though. I also would like more of the Leadership pool, but the only place I could consider taking from is the Fighting pool, which kind of feels necessary.

I would swap the range IO in Propel for KB>KD. On the flip side, KB>KD is wasted in Freezing Rain, as it doesn't do KB.

I'm thinking more like this

Note: I don;t like KB-KD in Wormhole, but you can put that back; it splashes them over the floor for me, vs targeting a nice wall where they clump nicely. YMMV 

I'd also rather have Crushing Field take the slots from Gravity Distortion Field, just because of frequency of use and containment, but your choice.

 

Note that the endurance problem exists even through Ageless and Cardiac if you dont slot for it. I choose to blunt slot them, but you can use damage/end etc if you want. 

 

 

Your accuracy was also sub-85% on anything +3; freezing rain could help, but you'll be moving too fast to rely on that but was also slotted for Procs which arent very good in rain powers so that got moved. I also highly doubt youll have downtime that you need to fill with frost breath, between your primary/storm powers.  We also Soft capped your S/L defense without really trying hard, while putting your ranged one purple insp away, but also putting your Steaming Mist to a nice 22% resist for E/F/C

 

Also: FF only procs on cast for pets; which you may sometimes want if you want an easy way to proc it, since it is a good chance. Tornado does much nicer with SBA than Singularity, since damage isnt Sings forte but is Tornado's. I dont find the KB annoying in LS but you may.

A small optimization - no reason not to use overwhelming force KD in Tornado instead of the SA. Get some damage out of it along the way. 

 

I get that end is at a premium for /storm, but think that double endredux while ignoring damage entirely is a bit extreme on Tornado and LS. You can get healthy endredux slotting sets in any case.

Youre right, damage/end is  better. At least on Tornado, for sure. Probably both, though at the tail end of ageless it may be a bit prohibitive. Not enough to do not do it though for sure.

Note: I don;t like KB-KD in Wormhole, but you can put that back; it splashes them over the floor for me, vs targeting a nice wall where they clump nicely. YMMV 

I'd also rather have Crushing Field take the slots from Gravity Distortion Field, just because of frequency of use and containment, but your choice.

 

Note that the endurance problem exists even through Ageless and Cardiac if you dont slot for it. I choose to blunt slot them, but you can use damage/end etc if you want. 

 

 

Your accuracy was also sub-85% on anything +3; freezing rain could help, but you'll be moving too fast to rely on that but was also slotted for Procs which arent very good in rain powers so that got moved. I also highly doubt youll have downtime that you need to fill with frost breath, between your primary/storm powers.  We also Soft capped your S/L defense without really trying hard, while putting your ranged one purple insp away, but also putting your Steaming Mist to a nice 22% resist for E/F/C

 

Also: FF only procs on cast for pets; which you may sometimes want if you want an easy way to proc it, since it is a good chance. Tornado does much nicer with SBA than Singularity, since damage isnt Sings forte but is Tornado's. I dont find the KB annoying in LS but you may. 

 

I'm going to have to look more into my build, because I was playing with my Grav/Storm tonight and he has a full six slots in Crushing Field. So I have some differences between him and my build I posted here. At first glance, I cannot see what those differences are. 

 

I'm fairly new to builds, so I am not entirely sure what numbers I should be looking for on everything. I believe def and res should soft cap at 45%, but that's about all I know. I did not realize that 85% was a good number to reach for accuracy, so thank you. That's good to know. 

 

I love KB-KD in Wormhole. I find it always stacks the mobs into a nice little pile. So compact that I usually have to wait a few seconds before I can actually start to see any separation between the mobs to know if I moved more than one mob or not. I also like your suggestion to drop Frost Breath. I think it is a high damaging proc power that I usually don't end up using because I have plenty of other options to take down large groups. I could definitely benefit from switching that power and moving the slots. 

 

I actually have two Gravity controllers. A Grav/Time and Grav/Storm. I keep looking for ways to try out Enflame from the Sorcery pool with Singularity and to add Fold Space from Teleport for a "Wormhole". I'll probably try to get Enflame into my Grav/Time to try it out. Neither build has a lot of wiggle room power-wise. I'm not sure Fold Space will be worth the investment, since I already have Wormhole. I might just get my Defender buddy to grab it to try.

I've considered it cuz i like teleporting, lol but it is a lot of investment to get 😕 I think a Warshade might get better use out of it for double fold space since they dont use toggles anyways lol

 

Also, if you havent, Options>Config>Exemp and base>Change base to hit to 48 which will let you see if youre hitting your 100% line (for+3 after alpha). Be careful with BU procs though because they will apply and skew your to hit till you disable it in Totals.
