I think I've settled on em/fire for my next hero.  It seems to be a good combo for decent ST & AE but I'm a little worried about /fire being squishy.  My goal is to eventually be able to solo/farm +4/8 as well as do regular group content.  Do you think tanker, brute, or scrapper would fit my goals better?  Which would overall feel the most powerful?

On a side note, I do also like /EA thematically but would lose out on burn's AE.  It looks like /rad would be a decent middle ground between /ea & /fire with it having some AE dmg and being tankier than /fire, but I don't really like the beta decay toggle thematically (is this required for the set?).

Thanks for any replies.

Fire Armor is a resist set, use it with a brute or tanker.  Either of those will be able to fire farm at max difficulty or run assorted group content at variable difficulty, you shouldn't feel squishy when the build is complete.  Radiation Armor is another resist set; Beta Decay is your taunt aura, so I wouldn't recommend skipping it.  EM/EA scrapper would be a dps monster.

Tanker if you want to be sturdier, Brute if you want to do more damage, Scrapper if you want to run after mobs.

i have no complaints about my EM/Fire Brute. It cleans in AoE and ST and it takes extreme content to make it feel squishy since, welp, half the spawn is dead in the first seconds.

I was originally leaning towards brute.  Does anyone have a build that includes taking the epic fire pool and fireball?

I love my EM/Fire Brute; you hear a lot about how EM is great at single-target, but with /Fire it's pretty good at AoEs as well.  I can throw my build up when I get home, but it's EM/Fire/Energy, not Pyre Mastery.

Anything you can have, we have it.  Even got a devil in the attic.

Thanks roleki!  Do you think it could work with pyre mastery or would you lose too much regen not taking energy?  I'm mainly wanting to take fireball for concept reasons.

Here's a MA/Fire/Fire brute I had lying around.  Should be able to tweak it for EM.

Scrapper if you want the most damage. Energy Transfer performed by a Scrapper is the strongest single target melee attack in the game, I believe.

You can buff it with Build Up and Fiery Embrace for even bigger damage.
