The lighting in Icon has always been weird and kind-of awful for actually looking at costumes. Since Icon's now hiring more surgeons, would it be possible to add some more diffused lighting from various angles to help make Icon a little more user friendly? Even just setting it to a permanent "the city at noon" light level would be a pretty solid improvement.

For that matter, could we possibly add a non-green light to AE? The green lighting in there washes out costumes and makes everything look muddled and dark. It gets a little rough when I'm trying to run SG mates through AE arcs I've written. I'd hope it would be possible to make the lighting in AE less harsh without completely ruining the aesthetic. Right now it's like an SG base set to low green, mid green, and high green lighting. If the mid green was swapped to a gray/white light it should soften the lighting in AE and make it a little easier on the eyes without completely ruining the effect?

I'm not sure how lighting actually works in buildings, so this may be impossible, but it's been on my wish list for a while and I figured now was as good a time as any to bring it up.

If you're just talking about editing your costume, then wouldn't it make more sense to ask for a noon lighting option in the costume creator/editor? Since once you exit the creator/editor and see the costume in Icon's lighting it is too late and you have to go back in and pay more to make those changes.

I'm not against this idea. I don't think changing AE's and Icon's lighting is going to affect me either way. (Though I would definitely be surprised if they implemented some sort of psychedelic, or haunted house, or other weird lighting scheme for some reason.) So if this gets implemented, it won't bother me. I just don't understand the rationale for it. Lighting in the costume creator/editor to give a better view of what you will see running around the city is what I thought this thread was going to be about.

(Also, you can check character SG's on mouse over or selection. If that helps you any.)

I think Champions Online had the right idea when they added a "green screen room" to their Powerhouse tailor...

I just need a spit take ...

*wipes screen

Having played Champions too  I agree!

I had the opportunity to place in a server costume contest and chuckled as the GM would MOVE THE SUN to give the best lighting for each character.

Dr. Aeon has been notified of your complaints about the lighting that he personally selected for the AE buildings.

Sure, if it's feasible, that would be nice too. I just figured changing the lighting in Icon was probably comparatively easy. Even if the Icons were just set to match Facemaker's settings it'd be fine.

It beats waiting out a night cycle to get a good screenshot.

The green screen room's a great idea. I know some people go to great lengths to make things like that in their SG bases.
