I also had this issue with all tier 3 incarnates. I make sure any travel stuff is off (sprint, etc) and leave maneuvers off. To compensate I eat 2 purples when I park in the middle of the map. That’s plenty of time to take the alpha and def is fine for rest of map.

Ah ok cool, thanks for the tip! If the build isn't working properly with T3s then T4s will hopefully fix that! They should fix it because there was no disclaimer that this build is horrible on end and it might become a problem. would have been nice to know before dumping 600mil into him or however much it was I forget and I'm broke too, this is supposed to be my moneymaker so I can actually start IOing my fun toons finally! That being said, I don't know if it's this specific build but I have been hearing that elec/rad is the king of afk right now so I'll trust it and hope that T4s fix it

I will let you know once I've reached full tier 4s, but buying/converting 2 purples isn't a big deal if that's all it takes. Clears the map afk in under 10 mins easy and is a great passive money maker. I think inspirations are the most underrated resource in all of CoH, personally. I also prefer one of the 10 min recharge radial pets so that I can summon each map.

Shouldn't be end crashing. Let me check tomorrow. I think you might be toggling on something that's just a set mule, but it's been a while since I messed with the build so will need to double check.

Thank you! I actually noticed that focused acc is a insane end hog I forget the numbers but like double what tactics is and I figure there's tactics so I turned off FA and it's a bit better but still crashing sometimes. And I have my alpha and destiny t4 now so if it was a lack of incarnates before it isn't anymore. So without FA I still have 10 toggles on, and the end crashes sometimes still, is 10 toggles correct? I'm not at home to list exactly which ones.. I guess I should have been smart and read through each toggle and see what ones I actually need because some might not benefit a SL farm it's just been a super busy weekend so I just kinda tried to let him do his own thing lol its odd though because it doesn't crash constantly, ill kinda watch him do a full 5-10 min farm while I'm doing stuff around the house and no crash but then I don't watch him for 20 mins while he's sitting in PD and come back and he's crashed.. he does crash occasionally in the mission too but you know just weird random crashes...

I just got home to look at the toggles and it seems like 8-9 are mandatory whether tacitcs needs to be on or not..

 

There's 11 toggles total including the 2 acc/tohit toggles (focused acc and tactics), to be soft/capped on def and res I need all of the 6 def and res toggles on (charged armor, tough, Weave, CJ, hover, maneuvers) and obvuoustly the 2 damage aura toggles have to be on so thats 8 mandatory toggles... does this build need either tactics and or focused acc on or can it go without? 

 

The only toggle that seems unneeded is static shield, it protects against hold, sleep, disorient, end drain, rec debuff, psi and teleport.. none of those are in a SL farm right? So I can leave SS off I guess..

 

I'll try with SS off and tactics on along with all the mandatory toggles and see how it goes.

I'm sorry last message, it turns I don't need hover either of I sacrifice the kismet in CJ.. I noticed my def was around 47.75, hover is the lowest def buff in my build, so if I turn off hover and take out the kismet from CJ and put in a def +5 IO it brings my def up to 45.06... 

 

I'm running charged armor, tough,  Weave, CJ (replacing the kismet with a def+5 IO), maneuvers, the 2 damage toggles and tactics and its working like a charm!

I don't know, I'm sure there is.. speaking of that I have noticed a few missed here or there without the kismet and focused acc on.. I don't know how else to fix this build though, hopefully the OP will explain how to actually use the build for a newb like me to understand lol

I'm wondering if both focused accuracy and tactics aren't just set mules for the recharge bonuses. I turned both off and it didn't seem to make any difference in my ability to clear the map in under 10 mins while afk (assuming the mobs came my way and/or I was able to alt + tab to reposition once in a while).

Even though Smashing/Lethal farming is better, Fire Farming is still good. The rest of this post will explain how to fire farm with a rad/fire brute. (For those of you who don't want to switch over.)
 

***How To Fire Farm in Page 5***

 

ACTIVE FARMING

Build:

For Active Farming (i.e. you at your computer actively playing) use the attached build called "AA_ACTIVE_Page4"
(All the incarnates in the build are required. Alpha slot being T3 most of all...as this will stop you getting knocked down.)

 

Map:

#41794.

Settings:
+4/8 Difficulty
AVs set to on. (This will keep the helper alive.)

 

How to Play:

Empty slot in burn is for the perfect zinger proc.  Just spam your AoEs and everything will die. There's a helper in the map who will summon phantom army's to help you bunch up the mobs. (You can do the same with your banished pantheon lore pet. Although I'd reccomend saving the lore pet for when the helper NPC spawns too far away from the centre of the map.) You'll want to pick up the Increased Attack Rate base buff and Offense Amplifier P2W buff.

 

 

AFK FARMING

Build:

For AFK farming use the attached build called "AA_AFK_Page5"

(All the incarnates in the build are required. Alpha slot being T3 most of all...as this will stop you getting knocked down.)
 

Map:

For 5 min AFK farming use map #51289

For 10 Min AFK farming use map #38973

Settings:
+4/8 Difficulty

 

How to play:

Jump into middle of map. Hit assault hybrid +ageless as you leap. Put burn on auto. Come back every 5/10 mins to reset. You will need the +HP and +end accolades, or the Survival Amplifier from P2W.

 

 

TRIPLE-BOX FARMING OPTIMAL SETUPS:

 

3x AFK farmers resetting every 5/10 mins = ~80 million inf per hour

 

1 x active farmer resetting every 3 mins + 2 x AFK farmers resetting every 5 mins = ~150 million inf per hour


MAKING YOUR OWN FARM

Not a fan of the meteor map? Pick whatever map you want and then give your mobs the following power selections:

HOW TO DAMAGE CAP YOURSELF WITH INSPS

 

Put the attached file "FarmPro.mnu" into your C:\Games\Homecoming\data\texts\English\menus folder. (Or whatever the path name is for your installation)


Then when you're in-game on your farmer, type the following into the chat and press enter:
 

/bind e "popmenu farmpro"

 

Then when you're in the farm, spam the "e" button to combine your inspirations into reds + eat them. (The "e" button will do both.)

The AFK fire build has no Burn, but the "how to afk farm" mentions putting Burn on auto.  Should I use Atom Smasher, or is that an error in the build?  Also, mids is showing a Knockback Protection of "1".  Is that correct?

Yea I'm thinking they aren't needed, with both then off and taking kismet out of CJ I'm still hitting, the occasional miss but nothing to worry about. I'm fine with sacrificing kismet and dropping a whole toggle (hover as I mentioned in a previous post) to get an occasional miss.

As far as the kb prot goes, in the OPs post it says that if you keep your alpha at t3 it helps but I don't know how because I don't see kb prot in its info.. hopefully the OP or someone can explain..

How's this build for afk survivability? The s/l build and suggested farm from this thread seems to die quite often.. I would rather not have to watch a afk farmer seeing as in you know it's afk lol.. it seems like almost half the time when I check on him he's dead from the 10min afk farm that AA made.. the 5min one he usually survives fine.

The crater farm he is alive so far. Early days for testing though, but seems to have enough survival for the new fire farms. I still think a tanker is going to do better than this, but it doesn't seem like a night and day sort of shift.

With a bit more testing he is faceplanting sometimes still. Less often than when I started, but still happening. I am actually finding better AFK results doing the tunnel, plonk him in between 4 groups, coming back in 5 rinse and repeat

Yea I think afk farming still requires a certain level of attention if you don't want him to die.. or do what you do and just run a normal active map and move around when you need to so youbdont have an entire asteroid map attacking you afk. I was hoping that it could actually be fully afk farming but I guess not unless if you go with easier maps with less or lower lvl baddies then it's not really farming any more.

I'm running the afk s/l build (elect/rad tanker), w/o any deaths, as long as I *don't* the +to-hit toggles (Focused Accuracy and Tactics).  Running those makes me run out of END eventually, and detoggling makes me dead.  After getting the accolades, though, I have enough END, HPs, regen, and recovery to run the toggles.  I'm running: Charged Armor, Static Shield, Tough, Maneuvers, Weave, Combat Jumping, Irradiated Ground, Lightning Field, Focused Accuracy, and Tactics, with Atom Smasher on auto.  My IOs are boosted as the mids build shows, and I have all tier 4 incarnates.

 

Also, I'm running in and hitting the rikti device, and then running to center and setting up the auto for farming.  I usually leave it running more than 10 minutes, not out of efficiency, but basically so I can afk longer while still making inf, hehe.  But the tanker survives fine until all the enemies are dead in the 10 minute map.  I did have some deaths at first, not only from running out of END and detoggling, but from not running Static Shield, thinking I didn't need it.  I still don't know why I need it (do the enemies hit you with end drains?), but I certainly don't die when running it.

 

Edit: forgot to mention, I'm turning Sprint off after setting up auto.  I'm only running the toggles I mentioned, plus Atom Smasher on auto. Well, and the incarnates (I hit all 4 when I set up, and if I'm bored, or have time, or whatever, I'll go in and hit them again after some time... but I can finish the map w/o doing so).

@EmpradDon't toggle on Focused Acuracy, it's a set mule.You need all your incarnates. If you're having endurance troubles, switch one of the damage procs in Atom Smasher to a Dam/End IO +5'd.

 

@Vinyl RichieThe mobs have 0% AoE defense.

In case anyone cares, I have made an alternate version of the build for the AFK Elec/Rad Tanker.

Capped S/L/E Resist
Capped S/L Defense

Capped Melee Defense
Highest dmg output while AFK of the listed builds at 105 effective dmg/s
Atom Smasher on Auto


Pros compared to the OP build

+4.91 effective dmg/s per 10 targets

+4 HP/s Regen

Capped 49% Melee Def up from 33%
Cons compared to the OP build

-126 Max HP


Full breakdown on the differences between the builds in the spoiler below.

This build also comes free with Super Jump for movement and has at least 3 movable slots for preference, as well as vastly superior overall resistances.

DMG
Lightning Field for 22.51 dmg/s and Irradiated Ground for 22.62 dmg/s for a total 45.13 dmg/s from auras per 10 targets

vs.

Lightning Field for 21.32 dmg/s and Irradiated Ground for 20.58 dmg/s for a total 41.9 dmg/s from auras per 10 targets

for an extra 3.23 dmg/s from auras.

Atom Smasher on auto for 37.42 dmg/s per 16 targets
vs.

Atom Smasher on auto for 36.37 dmg/s per 16 targets

As Atom Smasher hits 16 targets on the Tanker vs. auras 10 and 10 for a Brutes Atom Smasher, I will time the above numbers by 1.6 to get the effective dmg/s vs. 10 targets, just so we can compare the numbers easier across the board and ATs, should anyone want.

37.42*1.6=59.87
36.37*1.6=58.19
for a extra 1.68 dmg/s from Atom Smasher.
Total inc in dmg is roughly
+4.91 dmg/s for 10 targets

 

Res
Resistances, though all we care about is S/L which are capped at 90% on both builds. But for an honerable mention, in case you wanna do other things:
+31% F/C up to 69%
+18% E up to 90% cap
+55% nE up to 72.5%
+64% Ps up to 63%
-06% Tx down to 8%

 

Def

Defenses are pretty much the same across the board, apart from also capping Melee:
+16% Melee def up to 49% and past the soft cap, up from 33%

 

HP and Regen

Here we take a small hit to max HP, for an equally small gain to HP/s:

-126 HP at 2432 HP down from 2558 HP
+58 Regen (4 HP/s) at 375% (~38 HP/s) up from 317% (~34 HP/s)


End
For End management, the builds are pretty equal. Both take advantage of the Destiny "Ageless Core Epiphany". This build has higher end use at endgame, but also has more toggles that can be turned off during the building process for slightly cheaper End.
About equal

 

Status Protection
Should not play any major role in AFK farming, so just an honerable mention, in case you wanna branch out.
+2mag Held

+9mag KB
+63.2% Held
-12.5% Stun, Sleep, Immobilize, Confuse, Terrorize
+42.39% Taunt, Placate (though kinda useless outside PvP I guess)

 

Debuff protection

Also not a major concern for AFK farming, so also just another honerable mention.

+20% Recharge and run speed

 

Acc

Both builds hit the 95% hit cap vs. +3 enemies (+4 as soon as you pass t4 alpha).

Thank you for the reply! And for the fire farm build what's with this about keeping alpha at t3 for kb protection? I don't see anything about kb prot in its info u less I'm missing something..? Any other incarnates that need to be kept at t3?

Let me change that. Should say at least Tier 3. Tier 3 or Tier 4 both work.

 

The reason why is that it provides a level shift which decreased the value of incoming KB attacks from the mobs.
