Homecoming Shaders Corrupt Shaders for Other Servers

Per a discussion on the City of Heroes sub-Reddit (you can find it here), something that Homecoming has done to its shaders can corrupt shaders for other City of Heroes servers as they are all cached in the same folder - AppData/Local/NCSoft/CoX/shaders

May want to move the shaders cache to a different folder for those of us who play on multiple servers.

I just encountered a pretty severe issue as a result of this.

I played on the Rebirth server.  Then I launched Homecoming.  Because of a quirk with my computer, I have to reset all of my graphics settings and redo them every time I play.  I changed my graphics settings like I do every single time I play... except when I clicked "Apply" the game completely froze.  Sound stopped, and then a couple of minutes later the game crashed.  This happened repeatedly.  I tried four different times, and the game crashed all four times.

On a friend's suggestion, I deleted the AppData/Local/NCSoft/CoX/shaders folder and all of the files within, and then tried launching Homecoming again.  I redid my graphics settings, clicked "Apply,"... and it worked.

So there appears to be some serious cross-server contamination in the game's shaders, and this seems to be becoming a serious issue with those who play on multiple servers.

I wouldn't plan on different versions of the program behaving. Different versions.

I suppose another option would to be have separate installs for HC and the other servers. Not ideal, but it's something.

The issue is that even if you have separate install folders, all installs write to the same path in appdata.
