Ninja/Poison Crit bomb a thing? "Yet... Another attempt at MM's"

Currently PL'ing my new idea. and still messing around with a build.

So many ideas and Burnout combos... 2x Noxious gas/Smoke Flash, Barrier ninjas for a 6 second crit combo/ESD, Surge of power...Definitely a Kaio-Ken moment.  

Also not sure how procs work on Pets. Not sure if my slotting is right, A new AT for me. Sitting on builds for the last few months trying to understand a playstyle that suits me.

It sounds super fun but would be hard to run on this build. Would definitely need Ageless Destiny. I mean Burnout cost 49 end, Noxious cost 23 (x2), Smoke Flash 15 (x2), ESD 20 and Barrier 20. That's 165 end in 15 seconds. It would be hard to recover from that.

 

As for pet slotting, Explosive Strike isn't really worth slotting. Jounins have 2 attacks that can activate it. Oni... I don't believe he has any powers that can KB? This is probably how I would slot them. Slotted with Musculature Alpha in mind.

Just curious, explosive Strike? What power does that belong to that I shouldn't slot? 
I am planning on using Surge of power with burn out that offers me 100% Recovery. That crash will suck. Want to see what i can do with the -1000 regen with the crits with ESD once I put the build to a test.

It is a team build. I don't enjoy solo'ing and I like to do Timed runs. So I have END game burst dmg in mind for big boss burns. Like most of my MM ideas... They fall flat with my pets.

For a bit of clarity here, procs only work in powers that the pets have that specific chance for.

 

I/e, Explosive Strike will only 'proc' in a power that the pets also have a chance for KB for. The proc won't fire on a power that doesn't have KB/KD on it.

 

Slotting something the Touch of Lady Gray proc will work on any power that the pets have that also does -def. Which I think is most of the Ninja attacks.

 

Just something to think about when slotting procs.

In my experience, the most reliable %proc for henchmen is the Overwhelming Force %Knockdown/KB->KD. I like it in the first tier henchmen because you get 3 ninja knocking down opponents.

 

Another thing to consider about slotting %procs on Henchmen (and pets) is this: you are sacrificing slotting something else that they may need. It could be:

  • More Accuracy, to compensate for level shifts (%damage procs need slotted accuracy too, IIRC this is beyond "%proc chance")
  • More Endurance Reduction, to keep them going on offense
  • a Global Defense/Resist piece
  • An enhancement for one of their team buffs (often it's the T2 henchmen that have the team buffs)

For MMs, the henchmen ARE the source of damage, so it is almost always better to slot them for Accuracy and Damage than to try to rely on %damage from procs. The Knockdown is a nice soft control, after that I look at if it is possible for the henchmen to be debuffing enemies (typically AoE %-Res, to speed up defeat times... but usually the MM can do this). One of the Henchman powers (either T1 or T3) gets the Superior %Build Up Enhancement at level 50.

How much accuracy is needed for procs? Having a hard time finding a clear answer for this. Thanks?

I've been looking, but the search-fu is weak with this one.  I could be thinking about damage auras:

And/or I could have been thinking about pet/pseudopets with %procs.

 

Pure Pseudopet Anecdote: I had been running /Traps with 2x %-Res, but NO slotted accuracy (and using a Debuff Defense set instead of Accurate Debuff Defense, because bonuses). I made a simple change to add Accuracy, and I believe I am seeing more appearances of red triangles than I was before (keep in mind Acid Mortar isn't a great %proc power anyway, but the rest of my build uses the same Annihilation piece, so I am really hoping just for timer resets on the resistance debuff)

 

Level 14:              Acid Mortar       

 (A) Undermined Defenses - Defense Debuff: Level 50

 (*) Undermined Defenses - Defense Debuff/Recharge: Level 50

 (*) Undermined Defenses - Recharge/Endurance: Level 50

 (*) Undermined Defenses - Recharge: Level 50

 (*) Annihilation - Chance for Res Debuff: Level 50

 (*) Achilles' Heel - Chance for Res Debuff: Level 20

 (*) Accuracy: Level 50+5
