Erianaiel
Today on my new Windows 11 computer I no longer can play the game. I can start the launcher, login, select a server and then a character on that server. However, when I try to enter the game with any character it will show the splash screen for that zone and then before the bar underneath completely fills up crashes to the desktop. Sometimes it crashes windows as well and it automatically reboots. I tried in full screen and windowed mode and switched off advanced settings. There is nothing that I can remember that was changed between the last time I could enter zones and today, but I guess there must have been something? biostem
Can you try launching the game in, say, Windows 7 or 10 compatibilty mode? What about if you temporarily disable your AV or firewall?
City Council Michiyo Posted July 8, 2023 City Council Share Posted July 8, 2023 I'd suggest resetting your graphics settings, to see if that helps. If you're using HCLauncher, click the 3 dots under the "Homecoming" profile, click Settings, then check "Reset graphics settings on next run" This will automatically uncheck after running so your settings save. If you're using Tequila, click settings, then in the launch parameters box add -gfxreset you WILL have to remove this yourself for any changes made to your graphics settings to persist on restart.
Arc-Mage
Am I mistaken about DirectX not being supported by Windows 11 and the game using DirectX to run? It used to be that you had to DL DirectX for Windows 11 to run CoH. The part about using the Homecoming Launcher is always suggested however. Tequila will be discontinued sometime in the future. Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it just means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own. With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. BlackSpectre
Also, if you just copied over your old COH installation files, do a fresh, clean install. Then copy over your specific data from your old files. Folders you probably want to copy are: Accounts Data Screenshots Settings/Live (only the files in the Live folder really, and if you want to keep it clean, don't copy over gfx.json or client.json.). the Live folder holds any settings configurations you might have saved, including binds. I wouldn't copy settings until after you check to see if it worked. (heck, I wouldn't copy anything until after spinning up at least one login) Two other directories are costumes & powercust
