detour
Hi Hivemind - I'm trying to do a Shivan arc, and am running into issues. It appears as if the Neo-Shivans cap at level 25, but when I add a Shivan Obliterator AV, it lists level 15-40. Can I make the surrounding bad guys level 40 as well? I'm a little unclear how to make the minions match the AV level. The goal here is the highest level Shivans possible. If that can't be done, I would want to make custom Shivans that can function at higher levels, but there doesn't appear to be an option for a Shivan in the custom characters. Is there any possible way to make a Shivan mission with villians higher than level 25? Cheers, thanks a lot.

The thing is to see the mission range so that the low end is the highest level of an enemy you want in the mission and the high-end is higher than the lowest high-end of an enemy if you want in a mission. I'm assuming the Shivans start at level 15. So I would set the mission level (you have to do this on every mission) from 15-25. The player that picks the mission affect the level. If they are below 15, they will be raised to 15. If they are above 25, they will exemplar'ed down to 25. 1 hour ago, detour said: If that can't be done, I would want to make custom Shivans that can function at higher levels, but there doesn't appear to be an option for a Shivan in the custom characters. I don't remember if you can, but you could try to see if it would let you edit one of the minion types. You probably would want to give them more powers to compensate for the level range. unfortunately, I'm up too late and can't get involved with fiddling with it at the moment. But, hopefully, someone will be on to chastise me for my lack of knowledge sooner or later. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

I've suggested as much previously. Far as I know though, we can't. It might make the missions flow a bit janky if one is default levels of the character, then the next is only 15 to 40 (or whatever they are), but... I'm willing to overlook that sort of thing for story's sake. 1 Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game... ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Clave's Sure-Fire Secrets to Enjoying City Of Heroes Ignore those farming chores, skip your market homework, play any power sets that you want, and ignore anyone who says otherwise. Ankylosaur
You can't scale them. Occasionally, entire mobs are labelled incorrectly in AE. An example are the Luddites, who were updated with the Aeon Strike Force and now scale to level 50. I could put together list of these mobs I think. Much rarer, a single enemy in a mob is labeled incorrectly because they appear as "pets" or "summonable" examples include the Coralax Warder or, yes, your Shivan... Oh - and - let's say you put all the Shivans in a custom enemy group, because you have a Shivan in that group that spans the higher levels, I think, if you make the mission that level, the one Shivan will spawn at higher levels. They'll all be EBs I think, but there it is. I did this and it was torturous for the few that tried it. They go up to 20, iirc. I have done a TON of AE work, both long form and single arc. Just search the AE mish list for my sig @cranebump. Yep - here's a short list off the top of my head - may be more I am not thinking of Wyvern goes to 44 Luddites go to 50 Awakened goes to 50 Maybe Hellions go higher than listed too, like 20? I'm not certain of the Hellions. I thought they topped out at 14, but you may be right on that. It would keep them in line with the Skulls.
