DrFreex
Allow me to share my probable ignorance for a moment. I've been using the Bio Armor Effects remover v1 for a while now, as it even removed the exploding shell animation from Ablative Carapace, something even the "Minimal Effects" option didn't do. Well, I've finally recreated one of my characters from Closed Beta that needs the full range of Bio Armor effects, so I uninstalled the Remover via the modding tool - but I still see nothing on my character. I have no doubt everybody else in the game is seeing it properly, but I'm not, no matter what i do. Searched through the appropriate (and some inappropriate) directories to make sure the file wasn't there. Character still uncluttered by shell effects. So... what am I doing wrong? ZenSolstice
May I ask if you could point us towards the original mod?
DrFreex
Well, this is the info in the modding tool:
DrFreex
Tried to make a new bio armor character - still no shell effects.
ZenSolstice
My understanding on this is incredibly limited and you may want to wait to hear back from a modder who knows more of what they're talking about. That being said, when I have manually installed FX mods, they have gone under the new data file you have to manually create in your games folder. Perhaps do a backup of that data file (in case you have to roll back) then delete the corresponding FX file associated with bio armour. Other idea is to troll through the COH modder thread and see if there is anything there on uninstalling mods.
AboveTheChemist
If you've removed the mod via the City Mod Installer, and you still see the mod in game, then the most likely explanation is that you still have a copy of the mod in your data folder that needs deleting. The way mods are installed changed (and definitely for the better) with City Mod Installer, and unfortunately any mod present in the data folder will overwrite any copy of that same mod that you try to install via City Mod Installer. The most thorough solution is to make a list of the mods you have (which may be tough if you have a lot of them), make sure they are installed via City Mod Installer, then move the contents of your <CoH Root Folder>\data folder to a safe place outside your CoH install. Play the game and if you notice mods missing, then you'll probably need to do some sleuthing to try and figure out which ones are missing so you can install them via City Mod Installer. If every mod shows up as expected, you can discard the old contents of your data folder if you like. 2 Popmenus > Badge List | Optimal Paths | Conversion Possibilities | Emotes Wiki Pages > Costume Color Schemes | Set Bonus Comparison Tables Maps > Vidiotmaps | Optimal Paths | Halloween GM Maps | Winter Gift Maps | Offline Map Viewer Sounds > Banshee Sonic Attack Datasets > Recipe Salvage Components | Badge Name & Settitle ID | Exploration Badge & History Plaque Coordinates
