Ukase Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I'm on a fire/MA tank. And I've a choice; I can take Fiery Embrace, or I can take Focus Chi. In the grand scheme of things, I'll be taking both. But it makes sense for me to look at what both do. I know both boost damage. I went to CoD to see how much, if any, FE boosts toHit. Doesn't seem to do so. Fine. But what does this mean: Something is going to happen (or not happen) for 20 seconds. But what?

Thanks - but all that did was show a very long list of powers that Fiery Embrace would have some affect on. ("Powers bearing tag "FieryEmbrace") Doesn't answer the question of what's going on for those 20s. Ultimately, it likely doesn't matter. I'm still going to take and use the power. Just trying to stretch my brain and get smarter.

Right, so the power grants 100% Damage Strength to Fire Damage attacks and 80% Damage Strength to all other types of Damage for 20 seconds (you see this in the top effect of your screenshot). The other part of the power grants this effect with a 100% chance for 20 seconds on the powers listed in the yellow tag. Edit: To quote @Bionic_Flea from another thread who put it more simply: "all it does is add a "flag". When you use an attack and that flag is active, you get bonus fire damage added. That damage is listed in every attack that could be boosted by fiery embrace." Ukase Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 Thanks. I shouldn't complain, as I'm sometimes every bit as convoluted with my posts as CoD is with the data.

Just trying to stretch my brain and get smarter. Once you trigger Fiery Embrace, for those 20 seconds every time you attack it will proc bonus "Fiery Embrace" damage on the target. It's an extra hit for (depending on the attack) considerable damage. I think on my fire/fire brute it was doing around +140 damage with greater fire sword. It basically just adds a fire proc to all your attacks for 20s. 1
Uun Posted July 14 Posted July 14 For example, the field circled below is the extra Fiery Embrace damage for Cobra Strike. If I'm not mistaken, I believe this gets increased by enhancements. 1 1 Uuniverse
