I don't think that there is any way to put a build in Mids directly into the game, but just in case I'm wrong, is there? And how?

More likely to bear fruit, how do people handle taking a Mids build and implementing it on your character in game? I am extremely frustrated as I have now botched a respec three times, transposing a single slot to the wrong power in a way that significantly hinders my build goals. The display of powers in Mids is very different in layout from the display of powers during a respec, and I keep making mistakes as I'm allocating my slots. No matter how many times I check, I always miss that one misplaced slot. Do you have any mental tricks you use to keep track of what you're doing?

I'm expecting lots of mockery and abuse, because people online are people online, but any actual helpful advice would be much appreciated.

Hi.  Mids being a 3rd party resource, no, there is no way - and probably never will be - a method of inserting / importing your Mids build to the game.

For me, I make build before even making the character in game.  And then as I level up, I allocate slots accordingly to the build and how the character plays - sometimes adjusting Mids to compensate for things I didn't expecrt from playing the character.

If your character is already leveled up and and doing a large respec, then yes, you have to have a critical and scrutinous eye to make sure you allocate the right amount of slots to the right powers.  I look at the Primary powers on screen, then one-by-one down the column find them in Mids to make sure they each have the right # of slots.  Then repeat for the Secondary powers, then Repeat for the Pools / Epics / Inherents.  This is what works for me.

Another thing you could do is - enable in Mids the "Slot Placement Levels" by going to "View" and click "Show Slot Placement Levels."   Then you can allocate slots in the same "level up" order, if you want.  But I find the above method easier still.

Good luck!

When I respec I pretty much do what Frozen Burn does but when I add the slots I go in the order of the powers in MIDs. So instead of primary then secondary I go row by row in MIds.

Unforetunately you can't add the MIDs build into the live game but you do have a couple of ways to import the build into the test server. One uses a .JSON file and the other uses a popmenu.

TBH, I'm not sure if the .JSON file method works from MIDs anymore, it's been a few years since I've done that. Thepopmenu method works cause I used it a few months ago.

Are you looking for Ultramode style, candy coated enhancements and powers?

WELL YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!!

(they're also in the City Mod installer)

My big problem is that Mids power layout is not the same as the game's power layout in the respec screen. Mids shows powers in the order you take them, the game shows the powers with the primary on the left, secondary in the middle, and inherents and pool powers on the right, in the order they are listed in the sets/pools. It makes it far easier for me to make a mistake when looking from one to another, as I don't see the same patterns.

Honestly, if I'd botched the respec 3 times on 3 different characters, or even with 3 different builds of the same character, I'd be less frustrated. And I'd probably have caught the problem on time if I had purchased all the enhancements I needed before even started, as you can't actually finish the respec and lock everything in until you finish slotting, and until then you can back out. It's just frustrating to have transcription errors on my part 3 times for the exact same build.

Also, my PC is having a fit alt-tabbing repeatedly between CoH and Mids, which just makes me want to get things over with faster. Not sure what's going on, but knowing that the next time you alt-tab may be the time CoH crashes to desktop does discourage close attention to detail.

Well, I certainly see the issue. I just now went to the Mids Reborn discord and just asked them to have an option to toggle the UI to look like it does in-game.

Whether that will do anything, who knows. But, doesn't hurt to ask.
