Marine and Power Boost

Does Power Boost modify the Defense of Barrier Reef for the full duration, or only 4 seconds?   It's so hard to tell how procs affect this set with all the pseudo pets.

Looking at it in CoD... the owning player's boosts (including Power Boost) will be copied onto the "Wellspring" Pseudopet entity.
This Pseudopet then gets to activate its own power named "Barrier Reef" every four seconds; which applies a 2.25s duration +Defense buff once every two seconds.

So best-case I'd expect Power Boost's effect will last for the duration of Power Boost plus a few extra seconds; but not for the entire 240s duration of the Wellspring Pseudopet.

Unfortunately there is no big long "apply a +Defense buff for 240 seconds" listed anywhere; instead it works via a constantly-reapplying pseudopet subpower. However the power is not flagged as ignoring external external strength boosts; so Power Boost and Clarion Radial etc. should still do something for it. As to whether the benefit is worth it or not to you...? 🤷‍♂️

Most of the stuff in Marine that Power Boost should buff in a meaningful way relate to health and endurance.

 

Soothing Wave - increases the heal

Toroidal Bubble - increases the +end and increases the +recovery for the 60s duration

Barrier Reef - increases the +absorb for the 40s duration

Power of the Depths - increases the +hp and +regen for the 60s duration

 

Note, I haven't tested these, so speak up if you have and I'm incorrect.

I'm a big proponent of using Power Boost with Time/Farsight and Chrono Shift. Power Boost can also be used with Force Field/Deflection Shield and Insulation Shield and will last the full 240s duration.

I made a Marine MM on Breakout during testing and included PB in the build.

 

I logged back onto it to see results with and without PB.

 

I'm not going to pretty this up, here's the dump of what I noted.

For every number pair, the top one is without PB, the bottom one has it.

 

All told the only value that I saw increase was Soothing Wave's heal and PotD's +MaxEnd.

 

*Note this was a quick run through and I would not submit this as professional testing results.  Every number on here is potentially sus.

I took it on my Necro/Marine and then later respecced out of it.  I didn’t find it was working on anything that was already summoned (eg Barrier Reef) but would enhance my heal.  But once you seldom need much healing with that set it wasn’t useful to me.
