I think concerns were brought up during one of the beta passes that it would lead to some gatekeeping and the devs decided then to make it a badge for Diversity and Mirror instead of an extra reward.  Not that big of a deal either way imo.

“The community voted” is just shorthand for “5-10 people complained repeatedly to sink the change”.

     Yes, but as a direct result of that one possible avenue to get more Prismatic Aether is now gone.  So if people want to complain on these forums that PA is too hard to get, then they need to also get involved with Open Beta and shout down the people against making PA easier to get.  I did my part.

 

     Partially as a result of that debacle, I've just settled into the fact that having the best GM-Soloer is the ideal way for me to be able to harvest PA without needing teammates, at any time of day.

That was a day of stupidity for sure. Same as beanbag really.

Though a quick scan of this thread doesn't really show a problem with acquiring Aether, but how overpriced they feel the higher tiers of costumes are.  A single Aether per character per day isn't that much in light of that.

 

At least that's my view on it.   I'm not spending ~1.5 Billion on something for one character that I might not play that much.

I’m strongly against a reduction in Aether costume prices unless those of us who actually did the work are reimbursed when everything is devalued.

 

In other words, give me back thousands of Aether particles for my efforts or GTFO with those suggestions.

...and you wouldn't have to spend 1.5 billion if PAs were easier to get, because then the price would go down for buying them AND SIMULTANEOUSLY you would have more yourself and not need to buy as many.

True, but that would have just been a trickle compared to the current methods.  I think we'd need to turn on the fire hose to make a 1500 cost seem OK for me.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.  Cobalt is pretty set on the current valuation and while I'll gripe when it's brought up, it's not a priority concern of mine.
