Recently, a very kind anonymous forum participant became concerned about the financial state of Oklahoman, Inc. and very generously sent me loads of inf, with instructions to give it away if I don't need it. Well, I'm going to match their gift across a series of MSRs between now and Christmas.

For MSRs I run on Excelsior at High Noon (central) on Saturdays and Sundays (Nov 30 & Dec 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 22) if you manage to get the kill shot on the Drop Ship at the end of the raid you'll earn 1 Billion inf*. Here's a few rules:

  • I'll stop all invites once U'Kon is defeated, so no jumping in late just to have a chance at the reward
  • No more than 1 prize per @global
  • Don't be a jerk and make me regret inviting you to the league
  • If 1 Billion inf* doesn't mean much to you, back off the Drop Ship and give others a chance

I always send rewards via in-game email to your @global, so don't put me on follow and try to open a trade window. All my MSRs are Instanced now, and we form up in RIkti War Zone (though you can still get invited after we start, too, if there is space). Real life always takes priority for me, so if I end up not being online one of those days don't get mad - I'll try to get someone to cover for me, but no guarantees. Non-flyers will want to grab a jet pack before joining.

Happy Holidays and Good Luck!

* The max I can email you is actually 999,999,999, but the Oklahoman, Inc. marketing team says 1 Billion sounds cooler so just assume there is a 1 inf service charge or something.

Gratz to Couter, the winner for the 11/30 run!

Couter was also following the Twitch stream and commented there: "Can't believe it. I'm just a low level. just started playing again a couple days ago"

Welcome back! Next run is tomorrow!

EDIT: Apologies to those who couldn't get in because the game wasn't letting me invite people and you couldn't join via LFG. There's a weird bug with the instanced raid where sometimes new invites go to random team (in this case Team 5) instead of the first available slot, and if that team is full it fails. I think the bug pops up if I lock Team 1 at any point during the forming process so I won't do that again.

The Inf is great.  But what is really great?  Your leadership on Excelsior.  You set the gold standard for reliability and fun runs.  Thank you so much Okie!

Thanks, @Snarky, just making a last minute push to get off the naughty list this year. 🙂

Today's winner was Caffeine Jitters, who said "holy <@*&$@#!>, that was me?"

Next set of runs will be next weekend. Have a good week!

:classic_angry:  Stupid work schedule that keeps me from playing during popular hours...

Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game...

Today's winner was Unflushable, who said... absolutely nothing during the entire raid. There's a non-zero chance they don't know they've won anything. 🙂 Hope they check their in-game email.

Another run tomorrow!

EDIT: Today (12/17) I got the following message from him: "WOW! Thanks for the reward! I didn't even know I got the killshot. I was just playing to smash stuff and wasn't really paying attention to the global chat at the moment! This is a really cool suprise!"

Witchstrike won today! Final run tomorrow, then we're back to the measly 100 million inf reward. 🙂

I play on Everlasting and don't need the influence, but I'm curious have you noticed any data trends in what kind of AT/power sets have been getting the kill shot?

For instance I find dropping something like ice storm, blizzard, sleet would greatly increase one's chance of winning.

Has that been the case?

I'm not paying a lot of attention, but I think is pretty much every case it's been someone who was actively attacking the Drop Ship.
