Holy bananas?  200ft???  Illusions Superior Invisibility starts at 80ft and maxes (iirc) at lvl 32 with 200ft.  That's better than a Stalker.

Edit:  Cripes, it even includes a -perception power in the same set.  Illusion has two edges left (wrt to stealth, concealment and perception).  An AoE team stealth in GI and doesn't suppress when attacking.

Yeah i cannot tell from mids if Arsenal is the same as Illusion with respects to invisibility.  Mids has been going thru… well, you all know.  And i do not have the time to field test a bunch of stuff.  I think i am going with Illusion.  If the team rolls that way.  Odds were 90%+ a few days ago bit votes are shifting. I give it an 80% chance of a stealth team now.

@Snarky Elec/Ninja blaster is amazing. Pretty easy to hit your typed defenses, and you get Shinobi for your stealth (while pairing an unbounded leap or celerity stealth proc).

Plus you can use blinding powder or smoke flash to be thematic for stealth.

Also given your preference for dark related toons, obviously dark black/red lightning.

If you're building defense, and have a procd short circuit with a couple end mods in there, most mobs will get drained flat, and whiff their few attacks they get off on you given your defense. Then you can pull out your sword, because you can.

For even more tom fuckery, ice mastery app, toss on a snowstorm to slow their recharge to shit as well. You'll be a huge damage mitigation asset to your team keeping mobs drained and slowed, while having pretty damn good damage. Additionally you get frozen Armor, hoarfrost, and hibernate too. You'll be a pretty resilient stealth blaster.

yes i said it wrong.  i should have said "true invisibility" but... i didnt.  experimenting with a bane now.  will look at boards to see if it is what i want.  i still may go ill/psi/psi dom or dark stalker.  but Bane has 55 stealth with Cloaking Device

A Bane will work, but there are a few things to consider:

  • You will either be using guns or a mace (or both) to make attacks and use certain powers (Placate, Build Up, for example)
  • (my experience) Bane's are quite slow against single (hard) targets, but pretty good with AoE
  • Mask Presence comes midway through the build (for both Soldiers and Widows)

If you want less of a 'mechanical' means of attacking, a Fortunata offers quite a lot (with or without the claw attacks).

There are a variety of different directions to go with either Banes or Fortunatas. I don't think any of mine have particularly great DPS against +N content (especially if the enemies resist the primary damage types) but they are fine against +1x8. Some leveraging of the Patron pools might me necessary, depending on what is taken earlier in the build and if an off-type damage is desired.

Personally I find that /Devices blasters have the best stealth in the game, albeit, not until level 20.

Between the -perception in Smoke Grenade and the unsuppressable 15' stealth component of Field Operative, you can do things no other stealthy character can achieve.

And, yes, you will need to add a Stealth IO into a travel power such as Sprint. Or perhaps pair with Superspeed, but I can't remember is SSpd still stacks with Stealth powers.

P.S. I usually put an Extend Range SO/IO into Smoke Grenade. Don't bother with to_hit_debuff, as the 5% base is not worth enhancing. It is the -perception that is so useful

Arsenal Control (and illusions) version of superior invis does not suppress unless you click to activate something like a terminal. So you can hit an enemy and immediately jump to the next spawn and they won't see you.

Arsenal also has smoke can that debuffs perception.

Group invis (ill troller exclusive) also doesn't suppress when attack/attacked, but if you activate a terminal it will cancel until recast (although the visuals remain). The relatively unknown advantage is that the -threat modifier doesn't suppress when you attack (unlike superior invis) making you very slippery.

🙂 And this is why I think that /Devices is best.

Sure, that's good, but it is only 15ft of stealth, you still need smoke grenade if you want to stealth click an objective, which arsenal has a better version of (16 vs 10 targets among other things). In all other scenarios the 200ft of cloaking > 15ft of field operative.

I may be wrong, but pretty sure field operative suppresses on glowie clicks as well.

What this team needs is more Defenders

Welp, a /Devices Blaster gets a 60s autohit Smoke Grenade (10 targets max), perma out-of-the-can and can be applied multiple times to get more targets, with Field Operative gets 15ft of Stealth that is only suppressed by being Held, Stunned, or Slept, not Objective clicks.

While Control/Dominator Arsenal Control get a base-recharge 90s Smoke Cannister that only affects for 30s.  And all of Cloaking Device's Stealth goes away in a lot of cases.
