Sovera Posted November 30 Posted November 30 (edited) That Seismic Smash slotting hurts my soul. It's the strongest attack and can take two purple damage procs, and four slotting the purples in Gloom to squeeze another toxic proc is a bit oof too. Either go full in with the procs or finish slotting a fifth purple for the 10% recharge. Without touching too much on your power picks I would at least aim towards 77% resistances since the ATO in Heavy Mallet will give 6.7% and it stacks reliably two stacks. This could be lowered to 72% if considering Barrier adding another 5%. I removed several of the slotting aiming for defence since it was not nearly close to reach the softcaps anyway. Ground Zero takes a hit in damage but is up every 25 seconds allowing it to be synced with Build-up and trying to be up for every spawn instead of every two spawns, Seismic Smash got a nice bump up, Tremor takes a small hit but will be up faster and better slotted. Everything but cold should be hardcapped when Heavy Mallet has hit twice-ish. Zect Posted December 1 Posted December 1 I am traveling so I do not have mids available to me, and I'm too lazy to run the napkin math; however, chances are good that you stand to gain a lot by dropping spiritual. It is very likely gimping your proc chances. Drop spiritual for resilient core paragon, cut a bunch of res bonuses, replace geddon proc in rad therapy with glad fury -res, slot 5x armageddon (all but R/A), 1x FF proc, and boost the commons in hasten. This should keep roughly the same res, put hasten within 10s of perma, and gives more average damage in tremor than your previous slotting, that's just how bad rech enhancement and aoes are for proc chances. With your FF procs in both single-target and aoe attacks, you will still be close to permahasten in combat if not actually there. You can also consider dropping all that extraneous melee def: I can see what you're going for with the DN from your epic, but you really don't need it. While we're on the subject, think about dropping all your useless cold and psi res too. I challenge you to actually die to anything doing cold or psi damage. Your seismic smash slotting did more psychosomatic damage to me than any psi mobs will do to a tank (change to +5 hecatomb D, D/E, proc + unbreakable constraint proc + 2 more damage procs, or 2x blistering cold + 4 damage procs). Upping your slow res might be more valuable.

I was under the impression that global recharge (like Hasten or Spiritual Inc) had no effect on proc's firing. FWIW, toggling Spiritual on and off in Mids has no effect on the damage for the various attacks. All of the recharge is interdependent by design - Hasten, Particle Shielding, the two mini-nukes, the FF procs, etc. all keep each other running and popping as often as possible.

Hasten, the IO bonuses, the LotG, are global. Spiritual, Musculature, etc from the alpha are local and hit the ED. The more a recharge has slotted the less chance for procs to go off. For powers with extreme cooldowns like Ground Zero the extra recharge won't matter, but if you check the damage of Gloom or Tremor or Stone Mallet or anything else really other than GZ they take a hit. If that hit matters or not considering the power will be up to be used more often is up to the player to decide. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.

So even though Spiritual is a separate power that affects all your other powers (just like LotG IO's or Hasten does), the individual powers behave as if the bonuses it provides are local? That doesn't seem make much sense. Using Mids as a basis, it does reflect what you're saying, but both the damage difference and the recharge difference is really negligible, so I'm looking at switching over to Musculature or Resilient. While I've got you here - how does the Tanker Absorb proc interact with the absorb shield from Particle Shielding (and with itself)? Do they just stack? Edited December 11 by Story Archer

Regardless it comes up so irregularly it is not something we can count on. Same as the absorb from Preventive Medicine. They are both nice to have but we can't count on them.

Alpha powers work the same as slotting an enhancement into a power, with the exception being as you tier up it, part of the enhance ignores ED. What this team needs is more Defenders
Story Archer Posted December 14 Author Posted December 14 (edited) At this point I'm seriously thinking about dropping Tremor and taking Spring Attack instead. I hate the animation time (and animation) of Tremor, and I feel like Spring Attack + Radiation Therapy + Ground Zero would be enough to take care of all but the hard targets. I can get some decent damage out of Spring Attack if I proc it out - about the equivalent of three Tremors, all front-loaded for each mob. Anybody know what Spring Attack's radius is? Warboss Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Since it's from a pool, likely less then Tremor, I imagine that the damage is less as well. Nothing warms your opponent like Fiery Melee. Like I said, proc'ced out it deals about 3 times as much damage as Tremor, but it's recharge time is so long, that it can only really be used as an opener.
