Which of these two does more damage on a Corruptor when paired with Dark.  (I tend to not PROC unless they naturally occur in sets or i have “leftover” slots…😆 rare

To me a major factor is Blizzard vs Inferno.  In theory, Blizzard does a lot more damage, especially considering scourge.  But personally I found in most fights most of the damage was wasted on corpses.  If you plan on drawn out fights, blizzard is better.  In quick fights I think inferno wins.

I have run (on Corr) Dark Dark.  Meh.  Too much of one thing and not enough DPS.  Ice/Dark.  Your summary above fits well.  And have started a Fire/Dark.  Only 19 but it feels waaaaay more “Blastery”.  Not sure if that continues so I thought I would ask around.  I also did a Water/Marine that left me…confused.

Snarky you've heard me praise ice/cold/dark in the begone era of perma soul drain when you chose to also roll one. Even without perma soul drain due to the spirit drain change, ice/cold is still a damn good toon.

 

That said fire/dark is also a damn good toon, and so is elec/dark as well. I wonder if there's any primary sets that would make dark miasma run like garbage. Probably not.

You can still get Soul Drain in Soul Mastery, although it has a 240s recharge and 30s duration so not possible to perma.

They're both super excellent, top tier sets.

 

Fire edges out in damage both ST and aoe - especially in aoe due to the excellence of fireball. Ice has nothing equivalent.

 

Ice can get pretty close in single target if you are comfortable leaning in to procs. The big differentiators on Ice are Blizzard as @Uncle Shags mentioned, and Freeze Ray.

 

Blizzard is great in super overpull situations where chaos reigns. In this scenario, the damage from extra duration isn't wasted, and the control and heavy debuff elements are appreciated. The ability to place it out of line of site can also be useful for certain engagements. 

 

Freeze Ray is broken! It is one of the powers that least adheres to the power budget standards the team has set. It's not just about the amazing proccability - it is mega fast to animate and does solid base damage. Even if you don't proc much, I encourage you to at least put the purple hold proc in it. It's begging for frankenslotting with proc optimization though.

Fire/Marine/Fire is the ultimate "Blastery" Corrupter. You have your typical Fire Blast shenanigans in the primary, a Blapper style (super cool looking), aggressive targeted teleport that can slot both the - resistance proc and the Force Feedback proc? Love it. Add in a fully procced Char and GFS from the Fire Epic and oooooowie. One of my favorite combos is to blast from range and then teleport in with Whitecap and then follow up with GFS.
