No Love for Justin Augustine

For a weekly strike target this TF seems to be getting no love.  I haven’t ran it since live, is it really that boring or something?  Was on the last couple days trying to start one up but got no responses.  Didn’t see any advertised on the channels either.

You can solo it.

 

I think the main thing is that it is mainly street sweeping Rularru in the shard zone with only a few door missions.  Fly here, street sweep, repeat again and again.

I’ll try again tonight.  Maybe I’ll try soloing it if no one is interested in teaming up for it.

It tops my "most boring" tf/sf/trial list and by a large margin.  There's absolutely nothing interesting about it, no different than a regular Shadow Shard contact with several large hunts (50 mobs per) that give little to no rewards.  On the plus side it is probably the easiest tf/sf/trial to solo in the whole game.  It just happens to hit me with a lingering debuff to my attention span.

Soloing Dr Q. is also possible albeit dull and all the repetitive missions in it.   With Justin Augustine you can at least get nice progress on the 3 badges for defeating Rularru.

 

Sara Moore and Faathim TF's can be soloed but you need to be sure you are prepped and ready for the AV fight at the end of each.  Lores, signature summon, envenom daggers, shivans, backup radio, barrier.....

Yea, it's a bunch of street sweeps with 4? door missions.    Pay out is 84 merits as a WST and takes a bit of time.  It can be soloed which is it's only attractive bit.  Otherwise it's not a very interesting TF.

 

ITF is way more experience rewarding for 52 merits.  (Or can be done in 20 minutes at high speed)  (Of course, a double Hami runs clears 120 merits)

Problem with Faathim's TF is there are three AVs(Malaise, Mother Mayhem, Lanaruu).

No problem: backup radio, signature summon, lores, envenom daggers, barrier

 

Also there is the Nemesis AV from the Nemesis event

I ran it as part of my Mastermind Monday TF, I believe last week.

Worst possible outcome:  ran this the other day and got the bug where it wouldn’t let me enter any of the mission doors.  So, slogged through all the kill 50s and travel to missions for no reward except one badge at the end.  I couldn’t bring myself to run it again…

👆 This.  After years staying clear of it, I ran the TF on a team a couple of weeks ago, and was reminded just how dull it was.  I'd rather run several Citadel TFs than a Faathim TF, though I suppose I shall have to run it dozens of times so that all my characters get the badge.

 

Honestly, nearly the whole Shadow Shard could use an overhaul, but then, most of the long-time players have long known that.  By any chance, does the Battalion have a clearing in their schedule?  I've got a job for them.

If I could I would take a look at all 4 shadow shard TFs plus Synapse, Citadel and Numina TF for possible revision and modernization.   Original versions would of course go to Ouroborus like Sister Psyche and Original Posi TFs.

The Faathim the Kind TF wasn’t too bad.  146 merits with the WST bonus and it took us about an hour and half.  That’s with most of the team not having TT.  I’ll run this one again on my alts for the badges and merits.  The other shadow shard TFs for sure could use some revisions.
