d4verman Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Question: I tried to simulate a dead body using the technique Prime Elway mentioned in the pinned post. (set the person as "unconscious"). I even set the enemy group as "empty" so there was nothing to interact with, but when you get too close the "dead" person gets up and runs away. Is there a work around to this?
sponazgul Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Sadly, the body bag is kind of the go-to corpse indicator. Even if you set the person's behavior to be unconscious after the rescue too, I assume they get up and run away.

There could be some reason that a corpse can't be added as an object, but I'm not trying to suggest there is one. 4 hours ago, sponazgul said: Sadly, the body bag is kind of the go-to corpse indicator. Often in the story missions I create, the dead have been consumed by the "enemies", and all that is left is a pile of bones. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.
Clave Dark 5 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I have a mission with some dead NPCs in it. I set them as Allies and to "do nothing" when they are acquired so to speak. I want to say I can remember sometimes they might shift about but stay on the floor in their "Unconscious" animation, but most of the time they will stand up and then remain there; I just ran it again and that's what they did this time anyway. This is another case of having to try and fit your story around the weird systems and sometimes glitches of the AE. In my story I could allow for it as they're sort of zombies, and @UltraAlt option isn't a bad idea either. I would have prefered they not do that of course but... Clave Dark 5 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Not stand up, remain on the ground. I'd be happy enough to see the AE, you know, actually work as instructed to and let us place a dead (or even just unconscious!) character. 😃 Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game... ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Clave's Sure-Fire Secrets to Enjoying City Of Heroes Ignore those farming chores, skip your market homework, play any power sets that you want, and ignore anyone who says otherwise.
