I want to do some farming for influence and have a fire farm build ready.  Are there any AE missions that have something like an endless spawn of mobs so that I don’t have to go in and out of the map every few minutes?

I’d like something that I can mindlessly do while on work calls and such.

No. System doesnt accomodate that.  You're going to have to run afk farm builds through the timed missions (and then reset and do it over) or active builds through the longer farm missions (so that you have less mission transition downtime).

The closest to this in the AE would be the follow-the-NPC cave maps - sometimes labelled as "40min farms".

In these AE missions you are supposed to enter and immediately run to the far side ("back") of the map to a friendly non-combat NPC; who you then "rescue" and then set your character to automatically follow. As that NPC subsequently slowly walks around the map (technically taking the scenic route back to the map's "entrance") they will encounter multiple spawns of enemies + the idea is that you taggling along behind them with your Damage Auras going and a PBAoE attack set to auto will whittle your way through the mobs and come back to some nice drops/exp.

However in practice...

(i) These missions give comparatively poor rewards - so 5-10mins AFK farming on an Asteroid map can often be better than 30-40mins AFK farming on a Cave map.
(ii) You tend to come back to find your character stuck in geometry. Autofollowing in cave maps sucks.

I'm sure these are still popular because they're still completely attention free rewards, seems to me - you can multi-box it while actually playing the game elsewhere, or even (as it says) AFK.  Probably only seconded to ToT leeching.

Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game...

Yes, but it doesn't do what you want. If you have an Oranbega map that includes the chamber with the six portals, you can trigger them all and get a transfinite number of Behemoth spawns through the portals. Unfortunately, since this was determined way back on Live to be an exploit, the summoned Behemoths grant no experience. Similarly, the mobs summoned through portals created by Rikti Communications Specialists grant no experience.

Yes, and no. While not exactly what you're looking for, there are some AE maps where you rescue an NPC. The NPC moves slowly towards the front of the map. The map is the same as the one you fight Atta in; so it's quite large. Not infinite, but large. You can go afk reasonably safe if you have a the proper build for it, but you will need a proper build. So, sure, you can literally take a call while your farmer burns stuff, following the npc to the front of the map.

You will need to tab back in and make sure it's not stuck on some geometry. Try searching for Bloodom. You should see 3 options. You want the longest one. I think it says 45 minutes or so. And that's about right, too.
