GenderPoison Posted Monday at 10:22 AM Posted Monday at 10:22 AM I was wondering if anyone managed to save their characters before the shut down in 2012. I'd saved mine on a USB that I'd recently found. I am also wondering how to apply the codex in game. Please teach me or let me know if it's possible. Thanks! ~GP formerly of Champion
Snarky Posted Monday at 10:47 AM Posted Monday at 10:47 AM (edited) I am curious. What exactly are you trying to import? Costumes? There might be… maybe (i am no coder) a way to get that file info. But if you have the comp you used to play on those costumes were saved locally and i would guess be a better chance to slide them in. Again, no coder. Oh, and of course, this inly applies to costumes you thought were important enough to save at Icon/Facemaker… But nothing else from live has a remote chance of being imported/ compatible… Edited Monday at 10:49 AM by Snarky 1
El D Posted Monday at 01:30 PM Posted Monday at 01:30 PM (edited) What @Snarky said - you can only bring over costume files you have saved. That's done easily enough by copying any or all of the desired costumes from the preexisting folder and pasting them into your Homecoming costume folder (if you haven't saved any new costumes yet, you could just copy over the old costume folder itself into the Homecoming directory). Any other information, like character stats, builds, enhancements, badges, names, etc. was all server-side and lost when NCSoft took the game down. Even that might not be possible depending on what changes have been made to costuming in the interim. I had a villain with a great costume, but I could not recreate the costume in Homecoming because two parts that worked together previously became one or the other in choice in Homecoming. 1
Ironblade Posted Monday at 04:00 PM Posted Monday at 04:00 PM I used the Titan Sentinel tool to save xml files of all my characters. There is an online tool to extract the costume files (as many as the character had) and save them to the .costume format that the game uses. It worked perfectly for most of my characters. For a few, I had to go in and pick a new costume part that had been changed or removed. I have no idea what you mean by applying the 'codex'. Originally on Infinity. I have Ironblade on every shard. - My only AE arc: The Origin of Mark IV (ID 48002) Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.

Ironblade Posted Monday at 04:15 PM Posted Monday at 04:15 PM Well, my first game-related thought was the Codex Astartes from Warhammer 40K. 1 Originally on Infinity. Oh, and of course, this inly applies to costumes you thought were important enough to save at Icon/Facemaker… If you used the Titan Icon program to save out your character to a local file on your computer, there's a program to extract the costumes from the save file -- although you may run into 'invalid costume element' errors. You can recreate the build from the build information, and if you can read the game's internal enhancement names, you can get back how you had the character slotted: <power> <id>Mastermind_Buff.Dark_Miasma.Tar_Patch</id> <level>2</level> <slots count="5"> <slot level="40" boost="0">Boosts.Crafted_Recharge.Crafted_Recharge</slot> <slot level="50" boost="0">Boosts.Crafted_Pacing_of_the_Turtle_E.Crafted_Pacing_of_the_Turtle_E</slot> <slot level="50" boost="0">Boosts.Crafted_Tempered_Readiness_E.Crafted_Tempered_Readiness_E</slot> <slot level="35" boost="0">Boosts.Crafted_Snare.Crafted_Snare</slot> <slot level="35" boost="0">Boosts.Crafted_Snare.Crafted_Snare</slot> </slots> </power> But you're not going to be able to pull your character back into Homecoming from the saved file; at best you'll be able to recreate it starting with a new character and following the build you saved out from Live. 1 1
