Hi all!

 

I’ve never run a Dom before…. And I have a great concept for an Earth/Earth combo. I’m totally open to suggestions on powers, where to place the Dom ATO’s, all that.

 

If anyone has run this combo and has a build they’d like to share to give me some ideas, I’d be all eyes and ears!

Mm Hmmm.... 
Looks good, Uun. I can see a few spots where I might do things a bit differently.


1) Stone Cages: I normally don't bother with the Dominating Grasp set at all beyond the Fiery orb Proc, and I'm not sure how often it goes off in there anyway. Maybe drop it in Seismic Smash instead. Stone Cages itself doesn't need much slotting, maybe even just a accuracy

2) Volcanic Gasses: You can probably get away with just 4 slots here - the small S/L resistance bonus from 5 is neither here nor there on this build.

3) Ice Storm and Fissure could also lose a slot each - the E/N resistance from slot 6 isn't doing much here.

 

I'm not sure what else to do with these free slots to be honest. Maybe a few well placed damage procs?

 

If you want to be tougher, you could look into Fighting.
Drop Hurl Boulder, Assault and Hibernate to take Kick (ignore), Tough (2 slot with Gladiator's Armor and Steadfast +Def uniques and don't bother running it)

and Weave (LotG Unique + 5 Red Fortunes)

This will give you +13% Defence across the board, bringing you to the S/L softcap and a small purple away from E/N softcap too.

This also gains you an extra 6% or so recharge.

This is what I plan to slot in mine. Planning to go with Leviathan and colour it light brown to be a sand storm instead of water 🙂 same with Bile Spray, for a sand based spew. 

 

Went with Fold space so can pull stragglers and new mobs into the control zone. Hasten is 3s off perma, however 1 activation of a FFB +rech proc will solve that issue and 65% slow resists to limit debuffs from slowing you down.

 

Lots of Proc damage slotted into the AOEs. Stalagmites and Fissure to open and offer plenty of AOE stun. I wanted to fully proc out Tremor, but decided against it to keep the global recharge and accuracy high.

 

Haven't bothered wasting any slots on KB>KD as stone cages solves that issue

Here's another potential build. 

To get a better view of how the build functions, toggle on power up and unleash potential to see how defense totals and recovery look when you cast power up, then unleash potential (in that order). Also, toggle melee hybrid core on and off, and also toggle barrier on and off, to see what peak survivability tools are available during times when incoming attacks and damage are much higher than usual. 

For the single target attack chain, basically just use stone mallet after every two of the other single target powers (hurl boulder, heavy mallet, and seismic smash) have been used to keep a pretty close to continuous single target attack chain going. Hurl boulder will activate the build up proc about 22.5% of the time. Given how hard heavy mallet and seismic smash hit that probably leads to better damage in most situations than using a damage proc in place of the build up proc. If your dom is damage capped a good percentage of the time then a damage proc is better than the build up proc. 

 

Hopefully some ideas here prove helpful, even if you go in different direction for your final build.
