Wanted to try out the new control set and a Something Wicked This Way Comes thought came to my mind, so I paired it with Dark.

Let me just say up front, a taunt column is a beautiful, wonderful, quasi-abusive thing to have. Posi 1, first group, toss out Glittering Column right before the melees run in and look at that, nobody takes damage before we lock things down and clean up. Sure, higher levels will no doubt make that less effective, but oh how I have loved it.

And I noticed Glittering Column does -To-Hit, just like Darkest Night. Visions of Folding Space on top of a column and applying Darkest Night to keep things from hitting dance in my head just now.

So anyone else giving this combo a go?

I went Pyro/Dark right out the gate for concept reasons.

I'm just shy of 30, but it's been wonderful so far. The Pyro effects atop Tar Patch are suuuper pretty. Glittering Column alone has made this the most aggressive I've ever been on a Controller; as it gives a few free seconds to lay down Darkest Night and/or Tar Patch and some soft control before the retaliation even starts.

I was really curious about the Wormhole changes; though as of yet I've not had time enough with it to form a solid opinion. It seems promising! Overall, I'm very happy with the combination - though I suspect, just given Pyro's power lineup, it's going to pair well with just about anything; but especially anything with more to-hit or other auras to stack with Incendiary Aura.

I'm having a hard time between Pyro/Time and Pyro/Dark... would love to hear how your /Dark works for you on your journey!

im stuck between Pyro/Dark, Pyro/Time, and Pyro/Rad

I'm starting page 2 with a Pyro/Dark/Mace Controller. I played one a bit on Open Beta, and once I got an opening sequence worked out it was just a battlecruiser, rolling forward through groups in the relative safety of Shadow Fall, Scorpion Shield, and Set Bonuses.

Opening Sequence: Glittering Column, Tar Patch, Brilliant Barrage, Sparkling Chain, Command all Pets into Melee with Targeted Mob, Explosive Bouquet. After all of that, I'd move into melee range on the tar patch to get Incendiary Aura debuffing survivors, fire off Soul Absorption, and mop up.  I use Howling Twilight offensively on runners, or if it's just one, Dazzle. If you go the fold space route, you should be able to leverage the same powers, but bring the party to you!

Since the Devs got the last minute addition of having Accurate To Hit Debuff sets slot into some Pyro powers, you should be able to get 3 four-packs of cloud senses in for the tasty recharge bonuses (3rd set in Dark Servant).

I went Pyro/Rad and it was easy to make the visual FX match up.

Now I just have to figure out how to slot it up!
