Sets for set bonuses if your toolkit has other mitigation available (e.x. hand clap, fault, etc...)

Acc/Mez HOs if you are light on your mitigation toolkit. Procs are for when you have slots to spare.

MM gets a heal set for the recharge bonus. The +MaxHP is the most useful aspect of the power, I treat it the same way as dull pain.

The base accuracy of Aura of Insanity is poor (0.8) and it is a PBAoE toggle (notoriously poor %proc performance in these).

Self affecting procs are good on powers that regularly affect multiple targets at once, even with a low proc rate. The Tanker slotting I recommend trying is 4 pieces of Might of the Tanker (proc, and the 3 pieces with Acc), Entomb Absorb proc (winter hold set), and Sandman Heal proc (sleep set).

Since this thread isn't too old...

I went with 2x D-Synch Binding (Acc + Mez), Tanker Res proc, Superior Entomb: absorb proc, Contagious Confusion, and Cupids confusion

And so I'm wondering how well that will work...

Try it and let us know! I personally prefer the tanker resist proc in either the T1 or T2 attack so that it's available early and can be stacked by spamming the attack. While self affecting procs do trigger with higher frequency, PBAoE auras still only check for proc chances every 10 seconds so you won't be double stacking the resist proc. Can also become harder to proc with 1 foe in range like an AV.

IMO it's not a huge waste to stick the Tanker Res Proc in a foe-affecting Toggle, because it persists for 20s. So if you keep sufficient mobs around you that means you'll typically have it double stacked.

It's still less efficient than running an attack chain which can reliably TRIPLE stack it... but it's not too bad. And it doesn't care about recharge debuffs.

Regarding more basic Aura of Insanity Slotting... the below is what I go with currently:

I added the confuse from Cupid's set as well.

Going to throw this out there Re: Cupid's Crush...

That confuse requires a damage check,  AoI only does damage when something is not affected by a mez, so I'm not sure how well they'll play together.

Hmm...

How are we supposed to know this sort of thing?

and...

Would that mean that anything not mez'd by the aura and thus taking damage would then be mez'd by cupid?

I go with 2 53 Acc/Mez HO's, 4 Basilisk Gaze and I also go Vigor Radial.  All of your mezzes will be 8+ mag whatever random one that pulses out, except for the stun at 7 mag.

We know it because:

1. Cupid's crush is a damage power proc

2. AoI says somewhere it only does damage to non-mezzed enemies.

So if it's a damage set proc it rides on damage? Or just a toHit check?
