I have recently returned, and I must admit my return has had terrible issues and not so pleasant playthroughs.  Starting with the issues: when I initially tried to play, I had horrible rubber banding effect. I couldn't get the game to work. I looked at tons of suggestions (google) but kept having the same problem. I submitted a post to devs and oddly they had a fix that worked. In the Launch program icon, I hit the elipses (...) and selected verify.  It worked and the game ran, for a bit. I will spare you ALL the troubleshooting I did to get the game to work, but it involved many complete uninstalls (from selecting uninstall from the launcher (...) and deleting the directory) and then it worked. I will note that most programs I ran in memory (TSR) caused this problem - if that's any help to others.

I was so happy (even though I would sometimes have to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work).  Then, after playing for a while, I remembered all the things that made the game annoying - missions that were hard to find; mission instances where the final objective couldn't be found; LFG not finding anyone for 30 mins or more. I chose a low population server because of the problems I was having initially.  Should I try I a higher volume server? Does anyone have any suggestions (assuming I go high volume server) for SuperGroup? I haven't played any characters past 15, so I'm will start over. I'm sorry for the "Attention Grabber" title of my post, but I want to play this game and enjoy, but I am annoyed right now.  Any help would be appeciated.

• Does your computer have a dedicated graphics card, or is it using integrated graphics?
• "Most programs I ran in memory caused this problem" - how much RAM does your computer have?
• I can't recall any missions where objectives can't be found.  Do you remember the name or contact of the mission?
• The LFG queue, or the LFG channel?  If the queue, don't bother.  No one uses it.  It works just fine, but it was added shortly before the live servers went offline, so the City of Heroes player base never got accustomed to using it, so everything is formed the old way via the LFG channel.

you’ll get the hang of it soon enough mate. get the computer issues sorted and come join us on the excelsior server, you’ll never have a problem finding a team there

Oh this totally happens. A computer 4 levels up, a final target that found it's way through a hole in the wall.

@Vinque I too would recommend switching (at least to start).

Switch to Everlasting or Excelsior, and start a character in Atlas Park. Do the Matthew Habashy missions while you wait for a DFB (death from below) to start and then join that team. 

• If the computer you are using hasn't been used in a while, Operating system update(s) may be trying to download even if you have the option turned off. Updates downloading or background tasks can result in performance issues.
• Running the game over wifi can result in performance issues.
• Restarting the router itself can sometimes correct an issue.

I have had rubberbanding issues. I've gone through modems, I've added RAM, upped our service, etc. it sucked. Often unexplainable. You're not the only one.

I agree totally.  Until …. Mission objectives suck in CoH.  Especially Blue.  Gold can sometimes be s pain do to so fancy.  Redside, bestside, can still be a challenge.  But blue?  Major suckage. 
 

no one uses LFG function, except when a team is formed.  Or to teleport to contact.  We use LFG game channel to advertise.  
 

I play with Justice Superteamers Friday and Sunday on Excelsior.  They welcome all players.  We use Discord to organize and chat.  At least listening will help, but not required.  Ask anyone, i do not listen…

It might help to know what you want out of a supergroup, or perhaps what you're hoping to contribute.

 

Take a look at the individual server forums for a listing of supergroup names and/or SG recruitment postings.  As Excelsior and Everlasting are the highest populations, I'll give you links to those:

You can also broadcast your SG desires in General chat in the game.  That will usually get a response.

 

 

Oh, and Snarky's a died-in-the-wool Red Side kind of guy.  Don't outright dismiss his comment regarding Blue Side, but do take it with a grain of salt, preferably garlic salt.
