I will look at my illusion dark controller phantasm again and make sure it wasn’t in passive. But I swear that when I spawned it as well as my dark servant. It was stuck in passive mode

I have this problem with pets in general. If I move to far away from them or too fast they get lost take extra time to get to me...if I want to stealth to the end of a mission I find myself dropping all my pets then summoning them after I SS and Stealth to the end of the mission and then complete.

 

Other than this, I have found it just as easy to move without sprint, or any other form of speed boost. It took some getting used to but my Pyro/Marine is a steamroller anyhow so it's just extra inf and vet levels to me.

 

I do use the w bind to set them all to aggressive along with my Toroidal Bubble. Actually I have a bind set to every key except s x u i and p to do something to make my play easier, as I am old and lazy.

Not sure if you were fishing for this, but someone who takes the time and care to learn how to optimize their experience and put it into practice is not truly lazy.  The lazy ones are the ones who deal with a clunky UI, continue repeating unnecessary steps, and never do anything about it.  🫡  Thank you for setting a good example!

 

Also yeah I have the pet following problem too sometimes.  Particularly going up elevators, my pets forget where I am and I have to resummon or Recall Friend.

I've seen this happen several times. I know it's not a general solution but with singularity every time i change floors i tp target my pet next to the door i'm about to go in and never experience the pet getting stuck. You'd have to experiment to see if waiting for your pet to reach the door helps.

Having spent a day or two with this now on a new controller, I have two gripes with it.  1) The new default state is the opposite of what it used to be for reasons unknown, and 2) It reverts itself on map changes; this sort of system shouldn't be trying to undo the user's preferences.

Actually,  the reason is known... this is the same thing that happens with MM pets and they likely just copy/ pasted it.

Nothing about this change is trying to "undo the user's preferences" here. It's just the default state for controllable pets on literally every controllable pet. That includes MM henchmen as @Psyonico mentioned, as well as Lore pets which affect every AT in the game. 

 

And it is also a 10 second fix as mentioned above. Copy and paste this into your chat bar one time and that character is set the way you seem to want it forever.

 

 /bind w +forward$$petcom_all aggressive

Only issue here is I already have four other pools; flight, stealth, sorcery, and leadership… flight (for hover’s improved control) and sorcery (for everything but flight… Singularity with a ward and dropping fire on everything it pulls in is life) are no goes, so it’s either lose invisibility or that extra bit of damage, defense and +recharging from a LotG* just to fix a coding problem.

 

* gun to my head it’s leadership that goes bye… but man I’d love to trade my ancillary pool for a fifth regular pool and fixing the damnable pathing would make that an unnecessary choice.
