Hello Fellow CoH Players. After years of thinking I never would get to hear it again, I got to hear the classic loading front screen music again. I'm excited and nervous to be back. I'm from the Old Guard generation. I began around the start, and played and loved this game up to the end. I hope I'm posting this in the correct location. If not, please let me know where on here , as I also posted this on the Discord. Thank you. Back when I heard of the possible shutdown, I learned of a way to save my characters. I can't remember the site, but I think the program I used was called SentinelPlus. I was able to save the data of my characters as (Microsoft Edge HTML Document (.xml)) file types. I have the folder with them saved on the computer. is there a specific location I should put these and would it bring my characters back? My HOPE is that this is a viable option. I would love to see my characters return. Please let me know. I'm willing to try. Like I said, excited and nervous.

Hi

Welcome back. Unfortunately copying saved characters from live is impossible. Even saved costumes are unlikely to work as over the years there have been so many changes that most parts are invalid now.

I don't know the technical reasons why it's not possible, but the question has been asked a few times over the years and it's always been the same answer. All you can do is recreate them ingame and build them up again. The good news is that with all the change it's a lot easier to level them up, get all the incarnate abilities, and buy all those enhancements you wanted but didn't have the billions to buy. Half a billion inf will fully kit out your character a lot of the time, and they'll be magnificent.

500m is probably a ridiculous amount of overkill in a *lot* of cases.

But, yeah, the level curve now is ludicrously fast compared to the live era. I keep /optiontoggle noxp turned on MOST of the time because it's far TOO fast for my taste. You really should remake at least your favorite characters from Live. In most cases, they won't just be as good as you remember. They'll be better. (Holey moley did blasters get a tremendous amount of love with the i27 changes.)

It was a ballpark figure as some sets are more expensive than others. Plus boosters and the like can make a build very expensive.

And yep, better is how I would put it. My main was an invul/ss tank and she's so much better now than live

You may want to take a look at this link. Titan Network has an app available to extract costume files from Sentinel+ to Senticon to use in Titan Icon or Paragon Chat. This would allow you to view your saved costumes to assist in recreating them on Homecoming. Since Homecoming is now working on going full 64 bit I don't know if after you convert them you may be able to load them in the 32 bit client, but hopefully the Titan Icon view will be helpful either way.

The real answer to your question is yes, importing your old characters from the live servers is possible, especially if you have Sentinel+ exports. Unfortunately, Homecoming does not offer a way for users to import these characters.

With the 32 bit Client all but a thing of the past, there would need to be something to change the 32 bit files to 64 bit to be compatible with the game at this point. Senticon can convert The Sentinal+ 32 bit files to something the Old Game ( or Titan Icon, Paragon Chat ) could use but not for the 64 bit Client without some additional work. This, if it worked, would be just the costume files since everybody starts fresh here,
