WuTang Posted Monday at 05:28 PM Posted Monday at 05:28 PM I have a fun concept....I hope! TW/Ele/?? I'm leaning Brute, but when I put the build together on MIDs the damage looks anemic. Can anyone share their experience with TW, please? Thanks! -WT
Troo Posted Monday at 05:31 PM Posted Monday at 05:31 PM If looking in Mids on a Brute, be sure to put Fury to 85-90%. 1 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum
StriderIV Posted yesterday at 05:53 AM Posted yesterday at 05:53 AM @SomeGuy has an awesome Elec/TW Tanker build. It probably go even better after the recent Elec Armor changes. I’m sure the combo would fair fine on a Brute, although I’m not sure which would be more “optimal.” 1 1
Thraxen Posted yesterday at 06:38 AM Posted yesterday at 06:38 AM I love my Titan/ninja scrap. Aoe crit machine 1

My theme is Freakshow so I want Electric for the secondary BUT, they don't all sap and if I go Scrapper I'd want to change that to Energy, I think. I also wasn't sure how much of an end-hog TW was going to be so I hedged my bet with a set I know to be great help with endurance.
WuTang Posted yesterday at 12:02 PM Author Posted yesterday at 12:02 PM I played the Brute version to 13 last night, a DFB and a few Steel Canyon radios at +1x5 with a friend. And now I have a question, what exactly procs momentum? Is it targets hit, swings taken in a certain amount of time, or is it a % chance with each swing? It didn't seem to make any sense to me because sometimes I got it right away on the first attack and then others after a few swings. I really liked that the animations change during momentum, helps highlight that it's popped and it looks cool. Also, which powers in TW are considered "skippable?" Right now in my build, and since the secondary is Ele, I've skipped Defensive Sweep. I've also skipped Follow Through, but mainly only because I wasn't sure how momentum worked (still don't) and being locked out of an attack waiting on a proc seemed less than ideal to my brain. Thanks! -WT
Psyonico Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Momentum works very simply... your first attack will be slow and will add momentum. You keep that momentum for 5(?) seconds and then you have to build it again with 1 slow attack. 1 1 What this team needs is more Defenders
PLVRIZR Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago 23 hours ago, WuTang said: Can anyone share their experience with TW, please? TW is slow. Slower than Rad Melee...which is saying something. While many have had success with resistance armors on Scrappers, you're self-nerfing since it'll be capped at 75%. Go Broot, fo sho. It still early days, but it felt like a roller coaster ride, slow.....then fast!! slow.....fast again!! Yeah I'm going to run it up a few more levels to get the feel. IF I choose Scrapper, I'm switching the secondary to Energy Aura. Tanker....I need to look at it too. But this may end up being a theme toon for fun. Something about a giant chainsaw sword!
BZRKR Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago The build up power "Build Momentum" gives you Momentum instantly and on demand. The roller coaster analogy perfectly matches my experience! As far as skippable powers, Follow Through is not one of them. It's a big hit. I have a TW/SR scrapper and all I managed to skip was Defensive Sweep and Confront. If I had to skip a third power I would either have to look hard at how often that character would run at low levels and maybe skip Titan Sweep but I'd have to have a truly compelling reason to do that. In my opinion, Titan Weapon demands that you focus on driving the weapon around, not diversifying into pools to get ranged attacks, etc. 1

I did directly compare their ST and AOE kill speed. The Brute definitely does ST faster (about 33%) but when I was comparing their AOE, the tanker was actually faster AND I didn't have to worry about his survivability at all.
