This account is already logged in

This is just feedback. I don't know if this is a bug, a feature, or nothing at all to worry about. 

Sometime in the recent past, HC changed the CoC for multiboxing from 1500 to 1100. And, for the individual player with multiple accounts, this means that we can't have more than 1 account on when the server number 1100 or more, or when the 3 dots are red. I've no issue with this. 

But, I guess what I'm worried about is a case where just now, I tried to log in an account that hasn't been logged in since last night. And yet, after I enter my password, I see a message that says, "This account is already logged in".  Now, when I logged for the night, I really did log off to the sign in screen. It wasn't a case where I logged the character and remained on the character roster screen. 

I don't want to ever get tagged as a multi-boxer in violation when I might have one account playing, and the other account somehow is still "already logged in". 

Do we know what's going on here?

It often happens when you logged back in after suddenly disconnecting from the server, and you can enter your password and enter the server list just fine if you try again after receiving the message.

 

I don’t think it’s something to worry about as long as you’re not multi-boxing, since multi-boxing involves different accounts. Players can individually report if they suspect two or three toons are being multi-boxed at a server with 1100 players or more / three red dots.

The thing is, I do have multiple accounts. I have a number of fire/nature affinity characters in The Abyss.
So, case in point, this Saturday, I think, there were close to 1100 players on Excelsior. Not quite. I was on my @ukase account, had left the reward table up so I could choose the full 80 merits instead of 40, if I'd chosen the day before. I chose the 80 merits, logged it off, exited the character selection screen to the log-in screen. 
Next, I logged in my @Ukase2 account to participate in Saturday's raid. Now, my concern is that the game may think my primary @Ukase account is still logged in, even though it's not; The game is up, but it's at the log in screen ,while I'm on @Ukase2.

It sounds like you might be doing something fishy.

Nothing is fishy about logging off character A on one account and logging in character B on a second account. This is normal and done by everyone that has more than one account which is likely half the players if not more.

Don't worry about it. A real GM would let you know if you're out of line.

The GMs are pretty much entirely relying on reports and their own (ingame) eyes to see if someone is multiboxing, so you don't have anything to worry about.
