Hey folks, hope all is well.

I run PUGs frequently. And I have been relying on "Team Bind" chat such as /bind (key name) Team (message here).

However, is there a way I can send a "direct" message to each new player that joins? I just want to stop spamming Team chat with same message.

Thanks in advance.

The only thing I can think of is to create a series of 8 binds, one for each spot on the team, using /team_select X, where X is 1-8. So when someone new joins the team you send the preset message to the team slot they just occupied.

I run pugs too.  What's your message?

“Don’t join Uncle Shags teams.  He pre-licks all the cookies he promises everyone to join him”

If the person sent you a tell, in response to your recruitment message, you can hit backspace to reply to them, specifically, (assuming they are the last person to have sent you such a DM).  Another, albeit mush more complicated option, would be to create a rotating bind using the 'Team Select' command - start with position 2, since you're the leader, have it then send that person a tell, and load in the next file in the bind, incrementing the position, (so 3-8, then back to 2 after 8).

You could also use /bind x, "tell @target welcome to the team!

But you have to target the player you want to send a tell to first.

PS - I moved this to help and support.

This actually requires two clicks, but I think this will work:

/bind ctrl+lbutton "tell $target [whatever the message is]"

Then it's a two-step process:

1. click on the name of the person on your team list you want to send the message to, selecting them.

2. ctrl+left click to send the message.

I have ctrl bound to one of the thumb buttons on my mouse so for me that would go pretty fast, but even via keyboard ctrl is pretty easy to get to.  The disadvantage is you can't use ctrl+left click for anything else, like teleport.
