Exploit Weakness Sniper category IOs unable to convert within category.

Converting various sniper set IOs through "out of set conversion" normally give either the rarity or category options. Sometimes these result in an Exploit Weakness set IO. However the only conversion options this set has are "uncommon", meaning if you are trying for a particular sniper set you then very likely lose the category you are converting in.

If you set a man a flame, you keep him warm for a day. If you set a man aflame, you keep him warm for the rest of his life.

They're attuned IOs I've been playing with. I've had them convert into the 4 other sets as well but going by that issue of EW being the only sub 20 set, it must be rolling to the set and then locking itself out from further rolls despite being a 10-50 set which would include the other sets withing most of that level range. Kinda makes all the other sniper IOs a potential pitfall for converting if it ends up wasting the IO category by falling into the EW set.

Converting on a 40+. I tend to only sort things on my main which is 42 atm.

I can confirm this.  Level 42 character, attuned Exploit Weakness IO.  Can't convert as catagory Sniper Attacks.

It's even worse.  Exploit Weakness is still considered a Sniper Attack set when converting other Sniper Attack IOs.  So if you're trying to get a particular Sniper Attack set, you could end up with Exploit Weakness, which can't be converted as a Sniper Attack but only as Uncommon.  This is very frustrating.

More details, tested on a L45 character.

A L50 Damage/Recharge Exploit Weakness CAN be converted as Sniper Damage.

An Attuned Damage/Recharge Exploit Weakness cannot be converted as Sniper Damage, only as Uncommon or In Set.

This is still a bug for Issue 27 Page 1.

Attuned Exploit Weakness IOs cannot be converted as Catagory: Sniper.  They also make it near impossible to reasonably convert any Attuned Sniper IO to another Sniper IO set as in the process if they convert to Exploit Weakness, can then only convert as Rarity: Uncommon.

Still not working on Live and not working on current page 4 test patch.

If you set a man a flame, you keep him warm for a day. If you set a man aflame, you keep him warm for the rest of his life.

My testing seems to indicate that Attuned IOs are treated as their lowest possible level for conversions so I believe this behavior is working as designed. You see the same behavior when trying to convert an Air Burst as it is the only level 10 Ranged AoE set. It is an unfortunate side effect that these 2 sets only have 1 (uncommon) set in their category at this level so can only be converted by rarity.

I haven't tested it yet, but I suspect that this is always the case, it's just more obvious for these sets because they are the only sets at level 10 for their respective categories. For example, converting an Attuned Karma (10-30), will only ever get you a Kismet (and vice-versa), never a LOTG (25-50), despite them having some overlap. This is because it is treating the attuned Karma as a level 10 Karma in order to determine what is in the conversion pool. Essentially, you can never "move up" the level range tree, only stay the same or go down.

I suspect this was the best way to ensure Attuned IOs don't allow something a leveled IO couldn't do. Otherwise, for example, a Far Strike (10-25) could be converted to a Devastation (30-50) by going through an intermediary Maelstrom's Fury (20-35), whereas that could never occur with a leveled one since they have no overlapping levels.

Good to know when converting attuned IOs.
