Zep Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Dont have any image editing software at home making screen shots harder to post -- at 4k they dont really fit in a forum message. 1) Last 2 days or so the game has been stuttering. Walking, running, flying along the buildings and other not-my-character objects move in jerks (x64 and x32 - pointing finger at the server). This is behavior I would occasionally see on live or HC when the servers where under high load. 12:12am pdt right now so I am guessing not peak hours. 2) In working to resolve I reset my graphics settings. Big mistake, oh well. I had to revert to the x32 code to enable Advanced Shadows. Just says N/A in x64. Have disabled AA/AF previously 2x, 4x. No apparent improvement. I have always played with aggressive settings, may not be breaking any FPS records but generally had smooth game play. Other factors to keep in mind: New Win Update recently - enabled HDR for real this time, which my monitors support. New NVidia Driver with integer Scaling and all that other stuff possible mucking up the works. As you can see from my sig I have decent hardware backing the game. CPU/GPU are both well cooled and no apparent misbehaving in other apps. I am happy to provide any other information/data that may help. Zep Posted August 24, 2019 Author Posted August 24, 2019 Seeing other indications of lag in game -- maybe hosting? Routing? Issue is causing the stutters. ** Asus TUF x670E Gaming, Ryzen 7950x, AIO Corsair H150i Elite, TridentZ 192GB DDR5 6400, Sapphire 7900XTX, 48" 4K Samsung 3d & 56" 4k UHD, NVME Sabrent Rocket 2TB, MP600 Pro 8tb, MP700 2 TB. WanderingAries Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Sounds like ping/server issues. Don't have anything to throw at you for tests though. phmurgatroid Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 geforce experience pushed out a driver yesterday if you are set for auto update. version 436.02 dropped my framerate to 17FPS. uninstalling this update returned me to 60+ FPS.
Zep Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 I jumped on Justin and the 'safety' old code and the problem was significantly less obvious. Sitting here on x64 live I am watching pedestrians... step...step...freeze for a sec...setp. Kinda random how many steps they get. Could be a routing issue, driver, who knows. Even when your code is 100% not grey getting NV to fix something is, from what I have read, a pain. I may try a driver reversion. I forget does this game has a console command for a latency meter? Ping that sort of thing? F2 in POE. ** Asus TUF x670E Gaming, Ryzen 7950x, AIO Corsair H150i Elite, TridentZ 192GB DDR5 6400, Sapphire 7900XTX, 48" 4K Samsung 3d & 56" 4k UHD, NVME Sabrent Rocket 2TB, MP600 Pro 8tb, MP700 2 TB. Zep Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 Thank you!! I'll try that on the various server/client configs and post what I see. Not sure if it is a routing issue or maybe the client is stalling to sync with physics (just a guess) or some such. Happens more so in Zones like AP or SC less so in missions. I dont have anything to capture video but could use steam to stream it to an individual if anyone needed to see specifics. ** Asus TUF x670E Gaming, Ryzen 7950x, AIO Corsair H150i Elite, TridentZ 192GB DDR5 6400, Sapphire 7900XTX, 48" 4K Samsung 3d & 56" 4k UHD, NVME Sabrent Rocket 2TB, MP600 Pro 8tb, MP700 2 TB. Zep Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 Is there a way to capture netgraph output to a text file? Zep Posted August 27, 2019 Author Posted August 27, 2019 I've reverted to nv driver 431.70 - no change. Checked Indomitable and Justin x64, x32, and safe on both. Safe performs slightly better on both. Justin slightly better then Indomitable. Two things help some - the experimental cel shader doesn't seem to stall/lag, and turning down world texture details. Task manager does show me hitting 80-100 on the GPU (1080 ti) so I am guessing 4k is pushing the engine to it's limits. ** Asus TUF x670E Gaming, Ryzen 7950x, AIO Corsair H150i Elite, TridentZ 192GB DDR5 6400, Sapphire 7900XTX, 48" 4K Samsung 3d & 56" 4k UHD, NVME Sabrent Rocket 2TB, MP600 Pro 8tb, MP700 2 TB. Zep Posted August 27, 2019 Author Posted August 27, 2019 The Cel shader is taking my fps from 15ish to 45 ish too. Time to buy a 2080 ti? Or should I dig out my 580? It is better optimized for this level of OGL, I think. ** Asus TUF x670E Gaming, Ryzen 7950x, AIO Corsair H150i Elite, TridentZ 192GB DDR5 6400, Sapphire 7900XTX, 48" 4K Samsung 3d & 56" 4k UHD, NVME Sabrent Rocket 2TB, MP600 Pro 8tb, MP700 2 TB.
