Softcapped Fire/Atomic Build

Hello, with this build I tried to softcap S/L/E/F/C with mez resistance via MA (such a slept on power IMO) and theoretically enough recharge for permahasten via factoring in the +recharge buff from Beta Decay, though I can't add Beta Decay to the total +recharge. Damage doesn't seem like it'll be a problem with 6 slotted purples. Expense aside, is there anything I'm overlooking/could improve on with this build? (can't seem to use the Long Forum Export Tool)

I can tell already you won't have enough endurance, and Metabolic Acceleration won't do much for your CC resistance needs. I leveled with MA and I can tell you I barely notice it is there in terms of CC resistance. There is always Clarion for the CC but then you won't have Ageless for the big endurance problems I predict.

 

Agility may look like it will help but recovery just goes from 4.22 to 4.65.

 

*With* MA six slotted with Efficacy *and* a performance shifter in Stamina, plus an extra endurance IO, plus Panacea and Miracle in Health even so my endurance goes does to half after each pack. This is with eight toggles though, if you have less than those it may be fine. You'll probably want to take the fourth LotG IOs, probably the extra one in CJ as well, and slot MA better (two basic level 50 health and two endurance mod IOs with all four being +5 will max MA). Definitely run it over Justin for a test.

 

You can save one slot in Hasten if you +5 the other two. It does add one extra second to become 124 seconds instead of 123.  But it could go to Spiderlings and make it four Expedient Reinforcement which lowers Hasten down to 122 seconds.

 

You could switch the sets in Inferno and Atom Smasher, then remove one of the purples and replace it for a Fury of the Gladiator -res . If you're hitting a single tough target you're going to want to use Inferno, but with 3 second cast time you probably won't be single targeting something tough with Atom Smasher. Since you'll be using Aim + BU with Inferno the -res going off will be feeding your empowered ST chain after Inferno goes off.

 

Panacea gives more recovery than Miracle in Health. Consult this guide.

Sovera is right about the endurance. I have a Fire/Atomic with about 4 endurance per second recovery, plus 3+endurance procs and at 113.6 endurance and I start to run out in long fights unless there are team buffs.  You are at 3 per second and only 1 +end proc so you will likely run dry faster.  Short fights you will be fine but long fights without team buffs to recovery could leave you sucking wind eventually. The good news is you have 3 slots in hasten and you only need 2 for perma hasten so that gives room to at least throw in Panacea.

 

They are also correct about MA and CC.  You will still get mezzed (which will drop your beta decay toggle) it will just not last as long.

Ty for posting your build, it looks much better than mine. Question, if endurance is still a problem in long fights do you think it would be worth switching out assault for acrobatics and using ageless over clarion? Being defense softcapped already the odds of a mez hitting you seems low in the first place, though i guess its a double whammy if you fight dark energy mobs with fear/terror with only MA helping. I definitely want to build in such a way I don't have end issues with a perfectly optimized build.

Endurance is not really an issue currently on mine.  Last 2 fights on the ITF (computer +2 AVs and multi rezzing Rom with ambushes) I may have to pop a blue here and there but overall it does not drop fast enough to worry about it 95% of the time.  I still keep a few lucks handy for stuff with purely psi or negative damage.  One small luck gets you to soft cap for everything except Psi melee attacks which are rare but still at 40% and capped with medium luck.  For durability it is about as optimized as you can get but does lack in the single target damage. Was considering dropping Rain of Fire and swapping in the snipe now that you don't have to get to 22% to have it instacast.  I don't think I will miss Rain of Fire that much as it tends to scatter mobs unless there is a troller or dom around to lock them down.  That would look something like....
