Can't seem to get my Rad/Sonic quite there

I've been trying to figure out a build for my defender that would soft-cap all positions as well as maintaining perma-hasten/AM. The current plan gets pretty darn close, but isn't there.

 

I've managed to get:

42.9% Melee

39.7% Ranged

43.2% AoE

AM at perma

Hasten just one second shy (which I could live with easily)

 

Any suggestions for how I could eke out the last bit more coverage I want? I'd like to keep Dark Consumption and Soul Drain (DC I'm less attached to). I had Choking Cloud but figured I won't need it so much if my defense is complete. I'm ok with losing an attack or two, but would love to keep my Soul Drain + Dreadfull Wail combo going. I don't have to have Mutation if it means hitting the goal, and Spring Attack was in there just for the IO set.

 

I leave it to the better skilled at this point.

Rylas, this is a tough nut to crack. I was able to improve all 3 positions, but only aoe to cap. And I made the char much worse to boot.

I would just lessen the expectation there. Remember you have RI for anything tough anyway.

Ok, how about this? It only has 39.1% AOE, but it does have melee and ranged softcapped. Most AOEs in the game have a melee or ranged tag, some don't, but I'd be willing to live with getting hit 11% of the time by those in exchange for avoiding everything else. AM and hasten are perma, souldrain is close to perma, and when souldrain is effecting you, you'll get the full base dmg on your snipe. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Sorry it took me a while to get back on this, but I'll tell you what I think. I think that's a brilliant build! I'll miss have Choking Cloud or Oppresive Gloom, but the level of defense on top of the debuffs will make up for the lost mitigation. With AM and Dark Consumption, I'm not going to worry about two slots in Health and Stamina, so I moved those to Super Speed and Dreadful Wail. Moved the Celerity to Super Speed and got a bit more AoE defense in DW. Thanks a lot for the build, I'm looking forward to testing it out. 😄

Here's my take at it.

 

44,1% to Melee/Ranged/AoE, while keeping the things you wanted. I've also added Chocking Cloud back in, because I believe it's a nice tool to have under your belt.

 

Lingering Radiation is now slotted with 1Accuracy, I'd rather have a split second downtime than missing the hit.

EDIT: After seeing that you'd be willing to give up 2 slots (health and stamina), you could push both AoE and Melee defense to soft cap, ending up with 45% Melee, 44,1% ranged and 45,9% AoE. If you don't care for capped AoE, you could also put the extra slot somewhere else. A few contenders:

  • Tough (extra ribosome for hitting S/L cap)
  • Combat Jumping / Maneuvers / Weave (Kismet +6% acc or Karma KB protection or Shield Wall +5% res)
  • Lingering Radiation (+1 recharge would make it overlap for 4 secs)
  • Radiation Infection (Achiles -res: note: I did not test how often this would proc on a toggle)
  • Tactics (extra tohit buff - either set or hami-o)
  • +Recharge on either AM/Hasten
  • Move celerity+stealth to SS, so you don't have to run Sprint in order to get full invisibility
  • Winter's Gift+Slow Resistance on SS
