Dragonfire
Hi everyone, I have an electric/electric blaster and it seems the biggest issue I have is the amount of endurance each power takes, and I want to enjoy the build up to 50, so what would y'all recommend that I slot as enhancements in the powers to help with endurance cost, damage, and recharge? Those seem to be the biggest issues I've had so far. I'm hoping to make this character an all electric blaster for the concept I have in mind. I got her to 14 or so but the end cost is more than other sets it seems.
Knuck
At level 20, you can pick up the sustain power, Force of Thunder, from your secondary. It gives you +50% recovery (twice as much as stamina) and a huge regen bonus. It's great. The only downside to Force of Thunder is that it's a modifed version of what used to be a PBAoE stun/knockback power (I think it was called Thunderclap then? I never took the old version), so it is still a click power, and you need to activate it every time you want the recovery and regen bonuses. It recharges pretty quickly (like 30 seconds, with a 60-second duration), so that's not a problem. But you set off a PBAoE stun/knockback attack every time you do it. It's just a little bit annoying, but if you put a knockback to knockdown IO in there (or if you solo and don't blap too much, so you like to keep stuff at range), that part of the power comes in handy too. In the old days (before the sustain power), I slotted each of my elec attacks 1 acc, 3 dam, 1 end, 1 recharge, and always slotted end before recharge. That end reduction in each power helped a lot too, but I think you might find that slotting up Force of Thunder and Stamina will do the trick. Also, if you have the inf, you can add some of the proc and unique IOs that give recovery bonuses (from the Performance Shifter, Numina's, Miracle, and Panacea sets). All of these can go in Force of Thunder (it takes health and end mod sets) or Stamina, but 3 of those IOs can go in Health as well. There's a really helpful post comparing the benefits of these procs and other IOs/SOs here:
Hyperstrike
Post your build so we can see what's going on. If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!
Dragonfire
Lvl 11 Electric/Electric Blaster: Primary: Electric Blast Charged Bolts (3 slots): 1 dmg, 1 end (both 11) Lightning Bolt (3): 1 dmg, 1 end (both 11) Ball Lightning (3): 1 dmg, 1 end (both 11) Short Circuit (1): no enhancements Secondary: Electric Manipulation Electric Fence (3): 1 dmg, 1 end (both 11) Lightning Field (2): 1 dmg, 1 end (both 11), 1 syndicate technique dmg (1) Charged Brawl (2): 1 end (level 11) That's where I am so far. I think I may need to slot a lot more for endurance reduction on the powers and endurance regeneration, but any advice you folks might have would be most appreciated. ARCLIGHT
I have run a El/El blaster since day 1 of live, and I am really not that good. 😆 However, I never use lighting field. It is, in itself, a huge end hog. And it forces you into melee range, which at low levels can be bad. I usually take it much later and only slot it with end mod IOs. It is more useful later on when used in concert with power sink. managing the end on any blaster before level 20 can be challenging. At 20 I start slotting attuned sets, so I can start getting some of the set bonuses (recovery and regen). Slots in stamina are a must.
Haijinx
Pace yourself and run with large teams till you get to 20. Maybe a few DFBs After that as mentioned, force of thunder will fix your end issues.
Dragonfire
What's "Force of Thunder" ? My plan is to have this character be elec/elec/elec mastery when all is said and done. From what I see in Pine's, I think I'll take all the electric sets, either fly or super speed, and maybe one or two other powers, for the sake of the theme. Are there any electric powers that aren't worth taking, or are less useful than other electric powers? Which powers should I focus on slotting and maximizing? Wintercat
You're only lvl 11, and so running training enhancements. The end redux reduces a pittance. You'd be better off slotting all accuracy until you can begin getting DO's at lvl 12. After all, misses use as much end as a hit, and hitting more often means enemies go down faster, meaning less end used. Also, Lightning Field is a HUGE end hog for very little return in teams of damage.
Tugzug
As others have said, Force of Thunder is a very nice power that you'll be able to get around level 20, and using it increases your Recovery for 60 seconds (the power itself has a 30 second recharge, making it very easy to always have going). A lot further down the line you can even get Power Sink, and if you still somehow have endurance issues with Force of Thunder, the combined power of that and Power Sink will end your endurance problems for good. I have an elec/elec that's almost 50 now, and endurance basically no longer matters for him. For some added help, Force of Thunder accepts Accurate Healing IO sets, which means you can put Theft of Essence: Chance for Endurance in it that can give you even more endurance back if enemies are nearby when you use it. Be warned, though: this power sends enemies flying away from you, so if you don't want to bother teammates with it, you should also put Sudden Acceleration: Knockback to Knockdown into it. It's a great tool for blapping and I use it all the time.
