  1. Can we have the Base Building system messages turned off? Not spamming the entire SG with "X has purchased Y for 0 Prestige" over and over and over and over would be nice. It's not like they serve any significant purpose anymore, given that everything is free. I can see back when it was good to be able to tell if someone was burning Prestige, but not now.
  2. If the folders do not exist, create them. Normally the DATA folder does not exist except inside the game's compressed PIGG archive. If you create a DATA folder, the game treats anything you put there as if it was in the PIGG archive, and thus as if it were part of the game. Additionally, any file in there that duplicates the name and folder position any file present in the PIGG archive overrides it. So you can replace sounds/meshes/textures with custom ones without actually re-coding the game. Only you see the changes, though.
  3. Making existing items line up a bit better, please! Some of the meshes are just a LITTLE off, but enough that it makes the OCD in me go crazy. Spent a hour last night just lining up some of those hexagonal cement tiles because they're no quiiiiite at 30 and 60 degree angles. -g
  4. Would love to have logos available on the backs of the various jackets. That is all.
  5. I love base building! However, it is mutually exclusive with leveling up. That makes me sad. It would be nice to have a minor amount of XP be awarded for base building, perhaps with the ability to turn it on or off as you choose. Thoughts?
  6. RECIPE STORAGE. That's not personal, as in SG members can access and take them. Seriously, I have way too many of them, that could be benefiting SG members.
  7. Teleporters can have a max of ten locations attached to them. Beacons attach to the nearest Teleporter, unless that teleporter already has ten connections.
  8. Double sided textures of the current single sided surfaces, with closed edges. Also/alternately, more versions of the Dock pieces with other textures.
  9. Plain tintable surfaces! Same as the various current ones, just blank with tintable colors. Also ones with the textures we find in the various room styles. Maybe some others like asphalt and steel and concrete. Okay I'll stop for now.
  10. Hmm.. A door that when clicked teleports you to a built in target node on the other side. Might work.
  11. Apparantly the AH code does not interact well with instanced zones, which the bases are.
  12. Random thoughts... Anyone remember when Paragon Studios experimentally tried putting real-world advertisements in game? I am guessing the experiment failed, because after the initial launch I stopped hearing anything about it. I am wondering if the current servers could use the tech for something. Even just dynamic fake ads changing over time. Hmm.
  13. Oh, and BIGGER PLOTS! I'm kinda spoiled, but I wanna make an aircraft carrier. Need moar space! :)
  14. Would love if the platform pieces under Tech had closed edges, so they could be used standalone. Currently using various other items as edging to cover the gaps, but it's a lot of extra work if you have tons of platform pieces. Also, one square wide bridge pieces, with and without rails, would be great.
  15. The stickied post at the top of this subforum has the commands for building outside the base box. The examples you pictures are someone building on TOP of the base, where there are no walls.
  16. They have huge floor pieces in Surfaces, and the Dock pieces in Landscape and Platforms in Tech also work well. I use the Dock pieces for most flooring, and drop Surfaces on top or bottom (via F5 Surface Attach mode) if I want a different look.
  17. When outdoor lighting is turned on in the base editor, the item menu becomes super dark. I suspect it's being affected by the disabling of placeable light sources that happens as part of the outdoor lighting.
  18. I'm not sure you can. You can rotate the rest of the base, though, one room at a time.
  19. The platform pieces under Tech work well. If you don't like the grid pattern, flip the pieces over using Ctrl+Alt or Shift+Alt.
  20. Remember that if you move an item you previously elevated, it will pop back down to the floor unless you hold Ctrl while moving it to maintain elevation. Also play around with the Attachment type by hitting F5 while the item is selected.
  21. I was wondering, can in-game custom Global channels be accessed via XMPP chat client? I kinda miss being able to chat via my phone into the Paragon Chat channels while at work.
  22. I was wondering, how is item scaling controlled by the base system? How hard would it to make it adjustable? Would eliminate the need to make so many size versions of each item.
  23. Clipping remains active for me until I either manually turn it off, or exit Edit mode.
  24. Oh! Half height letters and numbers. The existing ones are nifty but a little large for "indoor" use.
  25. Beacons are located to the far right end of the appropriate Teleport tab category, scroll all the way right using bmousewheel or dragging the items left.
