  1. I only found about you today and I'm crying my eyes out. I'm not sure if I have a right to. We drifted apart in the last few years and it's all my fault. I wasn't a good friend and I hope wherever you are now you're in a better place and that you forgive me for not being the better friend you needed. When i came to Homecoming I decided to not remake Raine's BFF and I'm glad that I did that. One should not exist without the other. I imagine that in game when she found out, Glim would go just lay down somewhere and die of a broken heart. It's what I want to do. Love you always, Glimmershade
  2. 100% no. Everything that is in pvp zones is PvP and was put in as a reward for people willing to risk going into those zones to obtain them. That hasn't changed, other than the decrease actual risk of being attacked by players these days. The perceived risk should be maintained however. Moving the rewards out of PvP zones is just one more thing to benefit pve while saying screw you to PvP. Once again, you don't need those Shivans to do pve content, but you can risk it if you want to. I probably won't be there to stop you... But I might be!
  3. Tell me how you really feel. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I mean, you're making a strawman argument. The 'advantages' aren't the same. The only advantage to the pvp buffs are you can only use it while engaged in pvp in a pvp zone, or the arena and can't be used outside of those situations. You on the other hand can go into a pvp environment, grab your Shivans and then happily skate back out again to use your reward outside of pvp. See the difference? And since you're obviously not a pvper why would such a thing bother you? It changes literally nothing about your game experience. You can still do literally everything you can do now, and if you do go into a pvp zone for your loot, no one has any advantages over you that they didn't bring with them and would still have, buff or not.
  4. Great idea! We should definitely get on that. One thing though, how do I code? ๐Ÿคจ
  5. I feel like I've said this ad nauseum in a few different threads over the last week (including this one) but once again, you don't need to have Shivans or Warburg nukes or any other pvp baubles to complete any content in pve. Therefore you don't have to go to get them. The suggested PvP buffs have nothing to do with pve content at all and in fact would benefit you as well whenever you go Bloody Bay to get your Shivans.
  6. There's two pages talking about what these pvp accolades are, but what you just described isn't that. They are essentially buffs that mimic health and endurance gains given by pve accolades, but they are granted to everyone who enters pvp and only lasts as long as they remain in that state. There's no disparity.
  7. You DON'T have to go into a pvp zone to get those things. Because they aren't required for any pve content. There's nothing in the game that you need a Shivan or Warburg nuke for.
  8. Much like this thread seems to be irking you? I mean you could take your own advice? ๐Ÿ™‚ And calling people trolls because they disagree with you is neither accurate nor does it add to the discussion.
  9. Did he have stars in his eyes? ๐Ÿ˜
  10. A good compromise between the current P2W teleports and the exploitable macro we've all come to love. ๐Ÿ™‚
  11. There's nothing wrong with people continuing to have a civil discussion about this topic. Again, there's no arm twisting going on here forcing people to read this thread.
  12. But honestly Shard, between now and that time, yes we would have to go back to using the P2W version, but really it wasn't that bad. I didn't know how nice the macros were until I had them. It's nice to know that they are taking the feedback under consideration.
  13. Why lock the thread? If you feel that there isn't anything left to say and aren't interested in anything anyone else has to say, just exercise your right not to keep reading it. ๐Ÿ™‚
  14. Okay, that's a fair thing to say. The fact that fixing the problems with existing base teleport powers is on the radar is considerably mollifying.
  15. I didn't realize that you were talking about the game in general. Of course I agree with you that it shouldn't be used as a death escape in any situation.
  16. This was the OP's point I believe and I would assume easier than trying to disable it only on characters in the zone actively engaged in pvp.
  17. Irrelevant to the topic at hand. If you want to have a discussion about pvp balance issues, by all means, make a thread about that. Your point about 8 to 1 odds has nothing to do with the discussion, because again, you're choosing to opt-in to that situation. (Actually show me on Everlasting where that actually ever happens and I'll give you a million inf) Your other points about what pvp does in other games is again irrelevant, because the point still stands that you're perfectly willing to use an exploit to cheat other players out the legitimate fun they enjoy.
  18. CoH is an actual pvp game and has been since 2005, when the arena was first implemented. So, for most of it's lifetime. Just because the pvp parts are opt-in doesn't change that. Just because the pvp community is small doesn't change that. Just because you personally don't like the mechanics of pvp doesn't change that. And because the pvp is totally opt-in you have to accept the risks of going into pvp zones if you want that Shivan temp or those exploration badges or what have you. Shivans are a nicety, I don't remember them being required to complete any content in the game. The fact that you think it's perfectly fine to use such an exploit shows that the macro exploit probably does need to be removed or at least nerfed heavily. And might I say that you don't think it matters at all whether or not you can just zip out instantly is a bit insulting to people who enjoy that aspect of the game. Let me ask you this, if pvp doesn't matter in this game, why does it matter if you die from a pvp kill? What adverse effect does it have on you? Do you get xp debt? Does it make your mission fail? At most it means you have to spend an extra minute or two getting that temp power. That you think it's okay to use an exploit to avoid the pvp kill tells me that you are thinking "lol PVPers" when you activate that and that makes you part of the problem.
  19. Remember when people charged inf to go on Rescue the Fortune Teller mission? Before Ouroboros flashbacks and when inf and levels were hard to grind, especially at low levels? So I, being a newer player at that time, thought that when I got Dr. Trevor Seaborn as a contact, I would get on that gravy train and get me some SO money. Dummy me I didn't make anyone pay up until after the mission. With thoughts of millions dancing in my head I wound up with about 500k after 3 people stiffed me, two people paid and you one berated us and the larger CoH community for being the kind of players that rob people blind just for a badge, before also leaving without paying. Other people ran it for inf, why was I getting all that grief? Long story short, I don't miss Fortune Tellers for currency, the lower levels being a real grind and a million inf being a lot of in game money. ๐Ÿ˜ž
  20. And some of us are capable of doing both at once. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  21. If you want to make a new thread about adding or updating game content, that's a thing you can do. I wouldn't even disagree with you. Some of the legacy content is pretty dry and monotonous, but that's not just a symptom of the early game but of content throughout the levels. That being the case, we come a long enough distance from talking about low level training enhancements to where it's no longer germane to this thread. As for the original topic, i don't see where there's anything else to be said, on my part.
  22. The point, as I understood, wasn't about the content to begin with but whether training enhancements were worthwhile or whether the game should be made easier by letting everyone go hog wild and have SOs right out of the gate. Now you're talking about content getting stale, which has nothing to do with your original point.
  23. The essence of my point was that I don't think there's anything wrong with the early game that needs to be fixed, certainly not giving players I win buttons with SOs and proc firing powers at level 3. At some point someone has to ask how easy is too easy?
  24. It has never been the M.O. Of The City dev team, whether Cryptic, Paragon or Homecoming take content out of the game. When new zones with new content came out such as the Hollows or Croatoa, issue 0 content wasn't taken out, newer content was put in along side of the old. Same for enhancements. New options to gain better enhancements exist already and you can choose to use them, or not. If not, then you can slot TOs or run naked until you can get the enhancement you want.
