I recall hearing that you could speedrun Twilight's Son's arc to get a lot of merits quickly.  I don't know how true that is though.

Ah, so looking at the wiki, it's saying Twilight Son's Task/Strike Force grants 7 Merit Rewards and takes less than an hour.

That might be an easy one, but it's not what I think is top of the merit reward list if Hami is the benchmark for gains.

  2. Yeah, forgive me. I'm going to be that poster who asks a question that is likely found on the Wiki or by searching the forums. I promise I read those, but I wasn't satisfied with what I read. For those in the know:

What is the content that grants the most merit rewards per hour? Is it a static amount?

I know Hami gives a nice fat amount, what 80 then 80, 40, then continues to diminish, right? But what I'm talking about is a consistent merit reward every time, all the time. The closest I've found is via Ouroboros.

And can someone please explain the wacky formula the Homecoming team uses for calculating what should be the amount of merits rewarded?

Are Giant Monsters separated from this formula?

Okay that's all my questions, thanks!

Edit: So far I am reading the following:

    Hamidon Raids - Outlier

    Apex/Tin Mage - Outlier

When a "friend" buffs me, I get knocked out of the vitally important(!) fancypants villain pose I've adopted.

Or I'll be reading the newspaper and some tosser comes up and does some buff I didn't ask for and the next thing I know my newspaper has vapourised and I'm standing there ready for a fight with ... er ... probably the jerk who buffed me.

Would it be possible to stop this from happening, please? Or at least have the option to choose whether this happens or not?

For clarity: I want to not do a reaction animation when affected by any friendly buff.

Not a solution, persay, but when you activate an emote and someone buffs you, once the buffing animation concludes, you will return to your character's emote automatically. You don't see this on your screen when you are receiving the buff, but if you log in to another account and apply a buff to your emoting character, you will see this firsthand.

  4. Fantastic story arc, really glad I did the story arc at least five times (well actually 8 times because it gives 20 reward merits per completion and takes only 7 minutes to finish!!). On par with Lockhart arc, no spoilers though if you haven't ran this yet, or if you haven't taken the time to run it at least five times with different outcomes, you're missing out!!

Time is a currency in and of itself though. An extra 1MM/bid early can make the difference in a lot of time saved during missions by having your IO set.

Very true, absolutely agree. I look at it from a longer time horizon though. If I want something in this game and I don't want to wait, I'll get it instantly on the beta server. I actually play out my build concepts in advanced that way. It took many attempts at multi-billion inf builds to learn my lesson (which were mostly related to PvP meta from a few years ago). Build in Mids, export to beta, go through my usual gauntlet of test content (Maria Jenkins at increasing difficulty, then over to Monster Island for cascading mitigation testing).

If I'm buying at "NOW!" prices, I'm already getting hoodwinked. Though I'll confess I've been willingly hoodwinked on occasion if I'm pressed for... time!

Potentially. I posted a spreadsheet upthread in this post that contains the reward scale (RS) values for the majority of critters in the game. I assume when you say outliers that you mean critters with RS other than 1. As BlackSpectre noted above, the raw data is a bit complicated as-is for the wiki, so ideally we'd come up with a reasonable way of presenting it. BlackSpectre mentioned perhaps average RS for each npc group, and it might make sense to also present a range for each group. But those are just some ideas, and there may be a better way of presenting that info.

Oh! I totally missed that post, thank you for pointing it out for me.

Why do so many players go to the ouroboros and then just stand there all day? Could they possibly run away from the portal so travelers can actually see it to click on?

If I'm away for any period of time and I happen to be in Ouroboros, I'll jump in the pool and emote an innertube. One of my favorite Homecoming additions!

I would say it's closer to 60k currently. Yeah there are people who dump the market at 55k, but I have no problem selling a hami-merit reward worth of converters at 60 or even 65 within 24 hours.

I'm hard pressed to sell at 70k though.

It's amazing how just waiting makes me more inf. I post a bid and eventually, maybe days, maybe months, that bid will fill. Same goes for selling. Time is what makes me the most inf!

It's not selfish, It's also already happened in this game numerous times, see blasters. You're also arguing for people who probably don't exist. I highly doubt anyone is going to be like

"No! My single target fear! THE CORNER STONE OF MY BUILD!"

The mindset that we can't change anything or update anything is a terrible one, bad game dev, and giving the original devs way too much credit in the assumption they didn't make mistakes.

I wouldn't want this suggestion to be implemented.

Felt like alting for every character to get a roster shot might not be feasible, so I decided to finally start playing around with demo editing. It's fun (and slow)!
