Oh and here is his take on Brahn Fuhrnos, my SS/Fire/Regen tank. He nailed the eyebrows lol.
His customary "v" notch in his goatee will be added (subtracted?) if/when I color it.
One more to go and it will be a relatively new
hero I have never commissioned or received fan art of.

Some more stuff from my Live thread, this
is a pencil drawing I did for Kai of her eponymous hero.
It was originally going to be an ink drawing for a commission but
I was never happy with how my first attempt turned out so I gave it a 2nd try.
And since she had been so patient I went ahead
and put some simple quick colors down on it too. Thanks Kai.

Meanwhile on the new artz front, I received a commission from Dingodile.
Quite a unique take on my Witch-Queen Chloe Macomber.
Rather than try to conceal the spreading of her scales he went so
far as to depict her incorporating them into the material of her mask. Nice.
Love the sharp look he gave the hat too.

That's cute Tem. You'll get the hang of it I'm sure.
You should ask DD, her gift seems to be taking on new styles she has never
done before and making it look like she's been drawing that way forever.
She probably mastered 2 new styles this morning before breakfast.

Got permission from DD to grab this from the Art Request thread and throw some flats on it.
I also tinted the line art on a separate layer that can easily be turned on and off.
It's open for anyone who wants to do final colors and punch up work on it.

Not sure how solid the visor should be but I was loathe to cover the nice work DD did on
the face but anyone can try different opacities or FX and see what works for them.
I also let a little of the blue from her visor bleed over onto her cheeks but this
could easily be removed if it's not meant to have light shine through from above.
Thoughts?

Lol, no no no you want the "Fringe" back option not the "Fridge" back option. That's a totally different profile and wouldn't
fit the character concept at all... although you would always have a tasty snack and ice cold beverage handy when fighting crime.

I hear ya Flash, Bobby Aquitania always used to do the same thing for me, in the time that I would take to plan out
my pencil drawing and work up a rough sketch for a headshot/bust he would post up full color, full body
head to toe digitally painted works and give them away FOR FREE. Sometimes a detail would be
missing or the anatomy/pose/perspective was a bit off but what can you do to compete
against that kind of speed and talent combined with such generosity?
The short answer was don't compete. He was doing his thing and I got busy working on my thing.
Strangely enough the couple times I offered limited commissions my slots all filled anyway.
Art collectors (thankfully) are a greedy bunch,
they don't just want to see all of their
heroes in one style they want to see them in as many styles as possible. As Kai said
as long as there is interest and you are getting what you are worth don't sweat it.
Also Erwin is a line-artist, he almost never colors stuff... so unless Bobby finds a way to get reincarnated you're probably fine.
Kidding aside for the moment one day I got an email from Bobby, blah blah thanks for all your help with my computer blah,
hey I saw your refs for Shieldara, what do you think of this sketch? I was on my way out for dinner and had no time to
respond, so I figured I would do it when I got back. A followup like 20 minutes later said Hey I got bored waiting
so I retooled it, now whatcha think? Then like an hour later when I got home this was waiting for me....
this was the ref sheet he had seen...

Pirate Cashoo used to do the same. She was putting out more, in less time, in full color...
and for a while she was also giving it away. Oh and she was like 17 at the time.
Tough time to be an "artist" on the forums... I got humbled a lot back then lol.

Ahhh finally. The forums just didn't feel right without an art section! Hello to everyone already here
and to those just now finding their way, welcome home to the new best part of the forums!
This will be the place I post any new completed art, WIP's (Works in Progress)
I am still tinkering with and any fan-art or commissions I feel like sharing.
Comments are encouraged (I prefer them in fact) and by all means if
you have constructive critique please do share it with me as well.

if people could see the images I was posting, responding to things that were no longer there etc. than it was about the art.

To the artz-mobile Batman! This was always one of my favorites, it was the winning piece for the month of January
in one of the old FArt battles (yes we called it a FArt... short for Fan Art) from back in the day on live.
My Fire/SS/(by powerset) Regen(by slotting) tanker, Brahn Fuhrnos... ya gotta "Feel the Burn!"

No not 5 minute abs, it's even better than that! It's quick drawings done in under 10 minutes. It's so simple anyone can do it!
Take a topic from the thread, draw what comes to mind for 5-ish minutes, post your results here and pick a new topic.

SpoilerOriginally this was a thread on the old 606 section of live called The Hot Pencil or THP started by Pyro Nympho.
The idea is to get new people who say "wish I could draw like you guys" started drawing and to get established artists
out of the "everything I draw has to be a masterpiece or it sucks!" mentality which can lead to art-block. Pick something fun
and easy, put a ridiculously short time limit on it and suddenly you have no time for excuses you just scribble away furiously for
the time you have and post whatever results you get. No epic masterworks here, just a quick and easy way to loosen up and get drawing!
Sidenote: I removed the word Pencil to encourage anyone to participate but really it's best done without a fancy tablet
or special brushes or layers etc etc, that's really not the goal here. Just grab a pencil, a sheet of paper and any
image capture device (scanner, smart phone, camera etc) and you're on your way to 5 minute artz!
