Hows about a dark/dark tank with presence pool.......cloak of fear, touch of fear and then the 2 fear powers from presence

I have a dark tank that I need to respec. Might be high time to do a build on Mids and respec him.

I kind of feel like I made my point. But since it's re-opened, I'm still not out my gourd. And if I were, I still have Nectanabo's gourd to replace it.

Good Gourd what are we talking about now??

Dark/* dominator with Invoke Panic. Both Fearsome Stare and Invoke Panic benefit from Domination. Umbra Beast also has a cone fear.

A step down would be a Dark/* controller. Same as above, but no Domination. Another option would be Necromancy/Dark or Beast/Dark MM. You get Fearsome Stare plus the lvl 32 upgrades to the T3 pet include Fearsome Stare (Necro) or Terrible Howl (Beast).

A Necro/Dark MM I have is what got me started on this path. I was looking at dark troller but, I'll crunch some numbers on Mids tonite and check out a domi build.

Darkness Control Controller or Dominator, I'd imagine.  It has Fearsome Stare, and can summon three Shades on top of that, each with fear.  There's nothing EPP/PPP wise that can do fear as far as I can recall.

I half wondered if a dom or troller was going to be it.

  5. So next serious project now that my KB King build is in his alpha.

    The Fear AT/build!

Obviously it's going to be a dark set or combo of each (possibly?). Which AT and/or powersets have the most "fear" effects.

Sure I could rattle off a dark/dark fender, but, I want the ultimate with EPP/PPP included, so which AT could really put Fear into everything.

(I don't have access to Mids, I'm at work. Plus, this generates conversation and gets the ole brain matter moving).

Or since I'm usually behind on most things, has this been discussed already?

Nature has heals, + Resist, + Regen, + Absorb, + Heal Over Time, + Damage, + To Hit, + End Discount, -Damage, -To Hit debuff,  - Regen, - Resist, and more -Damage.

Your total  - Damage Debuff is  -35.63%.

    Your -Resist Debuff is 18.75%.

    Regen Debuff is -150%.

The "big 3 buffs" in Nature are Wild Bastion, Wild Growth, and Overgrowth. The build I'm running I have Wild Growth perma, and the other 2 are off by 5 and 9 seconds. Nature works great with beasts because they love Melee, your heals are cone facing (no matter who you have targeted, only those in front of you(and yourself) will be healed. You do have to pay a little attention to where your pets are to ensure they get your heals. And Entangling Aura is just...cheating. Nothing better than just jumping into a mob and seeing them get wrapped up in vines and struggle to break free while your pets waylay on them.

It's a fun build, and thematic ( if that's your thing).

I actually took the /Nature route, tweaked the build for my purposes and started lvling him up.

Thanks for the guidance, your slotting helped in the final build. I believe I will do /rad down the road either troller or MM. Its just that nature looks more attractive for a team build at this time.

  7. I like all of it, EXCEPT Patton Oswalt. I find him to not be funny, he's a rambler who punctuates swear words to get his effect.

I could have seen Eddie Izzard doing the part or Stephen Fry...maybe Billy Connolly.

As someone who has zero experience with the Sandman series I am pleased with the story and cast. Gwendolyn Christie as a gender bender Lucifer wasn't too far of a stretch compared to Tom Ellis (supposed to be a blonde!!!) take on Lucifer.

But, really if Lucifer was a gender it would have to be a woman and Gwendolyns mannerisms were perfect at least in my book.

David Thewlis in his role is one creepy bastard, the diner sequence I think is worse than hell.

I miss the days of Professor Lupin.

Overall I like it, it's different with a familiar yet unfamiliar mythology.

  8. This is not going to be a good response for alot of you and really I don't care your not my brother and you don't carry any weight with me. That being said.

Live...sucked, the devs sucked and a lot of  decisions caused people to quit regularly.

They spaghetti coded shit together (that much has been said by the HC team)

Shit was expensive and for a casual person IO prices and incarnate grind was impossible.

Fast forward we have fast xp, fast inf gains, fast travel, etc its become a game of convenience. Why? Well because that's what most of us are used to now in our world, and falling by the wayside is "grinding " for anything. Sure we still have to do stuff to get stuff but, time and pricing have dropped because of the need for convenience.

You have to keep everyone's interest and a 10+ year MMO that's a slog will never retain anyone except purists lost in a bygone Era.

The HC team have done what they want because it's their time that goes into this, yeah, there's some bad blood on how it got rolled out and alot people don't trust people who withhold things even if years go by.

This isn't Live you held your torch and it died. HC isn't a successor it's an alternate universe in a multiverse. This team and the other Rogue servers will do things how they see fit for what they have envisioned.

I'm happy for the moment, I put alot of time into farming, built alot of stuff, and helped others out along the way. There are things in the game I don't like sure I wish their was still cape mission unlocks, base raids, and unlock able costume pieces, etc but that's all part if convenience.

So no amount of bitching and moaning you do, this team will do things their way and frankly if you don't like it who cares. Quit, piss off, cry moar, whatever but your not changing anything, you're participating on someone else property who happen to update things periodically because they choose to do so.

Cap au Diable is the hub zone of red side, not Mercy Island.

Honestly, a starter zone also being a community event zone is a bad idea.  It's one of the main reasons why I avoid Atlas Park.  Too much going on, too many people, and the resulting lag (at least on Excelsior), gives a terrible first impression of the game.

I think this is why ppl used to start in Galaxy City.

  10. Ok per our convo yesterday, I threw together a beast/rad/levi, I have no clue how to slot the animals. Tried many for rech without going nuts. Also, tried getting me to a point where I could wade into melee with the fuzzies and start punching people.

  12. Ok did a build on Mids, was shooting for my survival, and benefits for the team. Went demons because of survivability, and overall good luck with them on secondary's that need a boost.

  13. I pulled out my Merc/Trap MM last night and ran on a team. We did the Kahn tf and the Eden Trial. Had a blast and was super helpful for the team (3 acid mortars ftw). The boys did good stood up and laid down suppressing fire to assist the 2 broots.

On Crystal Titan had a few times getting wiped (diff was upped) so that's to be expected.

But, the point I'm trying to convey is that it is a good team MM, it will never be a solo AV/GM kind of MM. Lethal is too resisted in those things and even with 3 acid mortar there never will be enough damage to do it.

And that's fine, every MM shouldn't be unstoppable, just as every AT powerset combo isn't powerful.

BUT, MMs do need some love in areas, costume changes for the pets, at incarnate lvls pets should be higher lvl even -1 to the MM would be a significant change to balance, and finally minor changes to dmg patches, having the correct attack chain, pet AI tweaks.

In this I watched my Commando last night go from being in range and suddenly run a fair distance to engage in melee with the flamethrower....um why, no reason to do this at all. I think shoring up stuff like this would significantly bring MMs into a more balanced world.

  14. I keep seeing the same minority of people doing the "thumb down " stuff and commenting on anything closely related to farming. These players make it very well known their position to everyone.

Which in turn has the same opposing group of players arguing with them. Yes, it is an argument there is no debate. One side wants it removed and doesn't care about repercussions from those actions.

The other side has stated just leave it alone, it's going to have ill effects, don't tell me how to play, etc.

Both sides have their reasoning on why it will mess everything up or is messing everything up.

Yes. There are other things in this update which no one has been focused on as much as this argument from the Beta threads to General. Nothing is getting solved other than threads getting locked and bad feelings all around.

I came to a conclusion because initially I was pissed when this all started. But, now I don't care, it's a fucking game. If it changes in a way I don't like, so what I'll move on to other things. There are other servers, MMOs, console, etc out there that I can go to if I don't like this.

Because, really all this shit is drama, petty fucking soap opera drama on a video game.
