  1. I make a lot of characters.  I use a variety of powersets with just a few ATs (tanker and controller mostly).  But I usually play the characters with the same sets - electric control, ice control, kinetics or rad buffing, willpower.

And while I have a wide variety of looks, I tend to play similar looks because I am playing the same powersets.

I will remake Freakshow Recruiter to be an electric/electric controller now that is possible instead of an electric/electric dominator.

  2. We went through the missions at a slightly slow but fairly regular pace, not skipping but not clearing.

We got to the final mission and we did well until we got to the door ambush.  It seemed like they all came out of the door at once, dozens of foes and we got overwhelmed and wiped out.

Because they are ambushes, when people re-entered the map from the hospital the huge horde of foes attacked and wiped them instantly.

I was a tanker, stocked up on inspirations, we got together and jumped in at once.  I stayed up for several minutes while we took out some of them, but I could not hold aggro on all of them and people kept going down.  I was so debuffed I could hit nothing.  Eventually we wiped.

It took 3 team wipes and hospital visits before we cleared the ambush.

Then we headed toward the town hall.  We  defeated the regular spawns and had to take on the clones.  We managed to pull 3 and took 1 down.  Then we charged in and took the rest out.

All told it took an hour and 18 minutes for a TF that normally takes 30.

The amazing thing is no one complained and no one left.  We ended with a full team, and half of them were going to stay together to do Posi 2.

I thought I'd give you all the opportunity to state your official policies on returning donations to players you alienate from your club.

The policy is simple.  Please return all of your game play time and all of the money you donated will be returned to you.

    I have spoken.

  4. Defense and Resistance should be multiplicative, not additive.  Meaning 50% Res + 50% res should give you 75% Res not 100% Res.  The problem with the current system is that a tiny Res increase in a pool power of 5% is useless to a blaster who has no Res but godlike to a tanker who has a Res of 90% already.  Making them multiplicative would mean the value of a Res or Def power would be based on the power itself, not what you are combining it with.

  5. I went through the first arc.  You may want these to tie together, but they really need to stand alone somewhat as well.  3 long arcs is so very long.

The contact as Freitag was fine.  But the intro to the first mission did not work for me.  It needed more framing.  The first map looked awesome.  Seeing the person was fine - but that did not tie into anything else in the arc.  If you just dropped the first mission and did the rest as an arc I would have made it 4 stars.

The Skullions idea does not work for me.  They don't dress like either.  Other then the name, there is no connection between your groups and the skulls or hellions.  I would name them something else or have their outfits reflect skull and hellion influence.

I did like the villains.  The thieves probably the least.  When I encountered the next group with the mastermind summoning thugs I was sorry I had not been facing them the whole time.  I do like variety, so having multiple versions of the villain groups is nice - but the thieves group was not very interesting as costumes or powers.

The timed missions worked fine for me.  It gave a sense of time pressure but I could easily do it in the time allowed.

The map variety was good.  I liked the last map and mission the best.

I liked the large number of patrols - it was interesting.   But they all said the same text which just came out as awkward and weird.

Overall I liked the amount of detail in the missions.  It helps to label the clues by mission M1, M2, etc at the start of the clue name.  Also a lot of the clues felt short - reading them I did not understand where I got them or how they fit in.

Overall it felt like you were going for theme over clarity, and a lot of clarity got lost.  Which also meant a lot of the theme got lost.

    Typos

Mission 2: Empty Safe clue has "should've" mispelled

4th (?) mission briefing: Sportive Tricks has "A lot if" which makes no sense.

5th mission briefing: Grim Visaged: it mentions The Constellation like it should mean something to me - I don't recall it being mentioned

  6. Your 3 basic choices are tanker, controller, and defender.

For tanker you want WP.  By 20 it has no END problems, mezz protection, and since it focuses on healing instead of resistance or defense it works against any enemy types - no holes.

For controller you want dark, electric, ice, or plant.  All have good aoe controls that can be up almost every fight at low levels.  For secondary you want rad, dark, or kinetics if you are level 20 (that's when they get speed boost).

For defender you want rad, dark, or kinetics.  For a secondary you want sonic to take on AVs or water for aoe damage.

  7. I basically agree with your OP.  I play blueside so it is nice to face redside enemy groups and custom groups.  Nice story.  The last map was a pain but did fit very well.  I like the use of the interesting maps.

You build arcs the way I like - variety of maps and enemies.  Named enemies, fights, enemy dialog - a lot of things going on in the mission to make it come alive.

My only real complaint is that every map was so dark.  A little more variety in light level would have been nice.

  8. When a signature arc came out, I ran around and could not find the contact I was supposed to meet in the mission.  Contacted a GM.  The contact was a body on the floor.  They had a yellow mark indicating them, I just never thought it could be a body on the floor.

  9. I have tried a male and a female, hero and villain.  The gloves and boots look good.  In both cases I had a ton of lag and the game was not playable - I am assuming that is not related to this feature though.

The pirate peg leg is great, I combined it with the corsair glove with no hook to make a scarecrow with stick arms and legs.  This is a great feature and I love the options it gives me.  Thanks Naomi.
