  1. I would also look at doing what you can to get the Accolades that boost your Health and Endurance. May involve faction swapping with Null the Gull to minimize the amount of team required things to do, but it would boost up your character some.
  2. Yeah, Dark Melee is like an addiction... you want to quit it for something else, something flashy or smashy or bright... but then it works so well, it protects you, it heals you, it wraps around you like a warm snuggly blanket of the abyss, and you just can't let it go. And it really pairs so well with the Defense based sets (I have a DM/SR scrapper currently) because it has those built in heal and endurance recovery powers as options.
  3. Thanks for the replies all. Hmm, if Rad is slow, then it will likely be out for the same reason Electric Melee just isn't working for me... guess I have gotten impatient in my old age, but the ponderous sets, even with a great pay off, just sap some of the joy from me. Street Justice and Dark Melee are both so appealing, on the one hand we have the crazy street ninja fu that I haven't played yet save on a Stalker, and on the other hand we have the tried and true Dark Melee, primary attack set of my very first 50 (and favorite character) on live, that I always thought would pair so well with SD. Decisions decisions!
  4. To best, reliably solo, EB/AVs? An earlier thread got me thinking of my old SD/SS tanker from live, and now I feel the need to remake them here and engage in one of my favorite CoH pastimes or seeing just how comic book-y I can feel by trying to square off against the biggest thing I can stumble across. But, since I hate doing the same thing twice, and I already have a few SS Tanks and Brutes, what set should I pair with SD to best accomplish my solo shenanigans goals? Dark Melee is certainly up for consideration, as my main from live was a DM scrapper and it is still my favorite melee powerset. Radiation Melee looks promising, but I haven't played with it yet. Street Justice also looks promising, but I am not sure how it's damage output is as a Tanker. Fiery and Ice Melee both look like they could be good sets to match up. I have no idea as to whether Psi or Savage Melee would fit the bill either as I have not used either as yet in any form. So great and wise council of tankiness, which of those sets would you recommend to best suit my goals of slapping on a trusty shield and trying to beat up anything I come across? Thanks. The following are out of the running for one reason or another. Electric Melee just turned out to be too slow on a Tanker for my tastes. The AOE is nice and it synergizes well with SD, but I just can't do that again. Energy Melee is right out... I still remember when it was a thing of glory back on live. I do not think I have recovered yet from the loss. The weapon sets are out because I have either a tank or brute with them already, and while fun they are not my favorites. Kinetic Melee is just too underwhelming for me to deal with those animations again 😞 Obviously, all of the two handed sets are out, so no TW, DB, Claws, Staff, Spines or Katana. Martial Arts just feels meh, like it was slowed down or something from live... or maybe my brain just remembers it faster. Stone Melee is out of the running because I am working on it for another concept already.
  5. Same problem, running the mission (for this really bad fan-fic quality) arc, no serum shows up, impossible to defeat the EB.
  6. Released into the wild: Dark Rook Golden Sentry (about a week ago, so no promises)
  7. Back before the sunset one of my main characters was a SD/SS Tanker, and she was just ridiculous, especially after getting all of the Incarnate goodies. Insane survivability, plus a kind of ridiculous amount of AOE damage. TFs were always fun, especially when Shield Charging and Foot Stomping a big group of Pseudo Romans into the ground!
  8. I have experienced more than I had over the past week, yes. Full disclosure though, I only came back to CoH at the end of September, so I don't have a long sample period. However, the past week or so, I have had noticeable amounts of rubberbanding, usually right after zoning or performing a lengthy animation, then immediately running.
  9. While I appreciate your response, the fact is that Spines and Stone Melee are both out thematically, and I already have a Spines Brute. Katana was high on my list for the Street Samurai Shadowrun Cyborg theme, but ultimately I did go with Electric Melee as it just felt right. She is only level 10 after doing the Kalinda chain on Mercy Island, but so far I like it.
  10. That was kinda what I was thinking, and it is also a power set I don't currently have in use.
  11. Howdy all, I am trying decide on a Secondary to go with WP, to be able to provide consistent, solid damage output (I know, Tanker not a Brute, but I am working on a theme here!) to work as a reliable solo content character, out of the following choices: (again, has to fit the theme, so not everything is on the table) Katana Broad Sword Street Justice Claws Electric Melee Dual Blades Dark Melee is an outlier option, but I have a few (non tanker versions) already, so trying for something different, unless it is just the best damage output option. Martial Arts I have done into the 30s and it just feels extremely clunky and underwhelming. Super Strength, War Mace, Titan Weapons I have a few of already, hence the search for something different. Any advice would be appreciated. *The theme in question is a former character from live, lost her previous powers (Dark Melee), and being brought back as a cyborg, which is why I am trying to limit the choices to a more Street Samurai/techie stuff feel.
  12. My only Praetorian in the few weeks I have been back in CoH, is a hard-bitten pulp detective who encountered a Gypsy curse (what with Gypsy curses being all the rage back in the day) while working a case for some dame who sauntered into his office with big eyes, long legs and a sob story... the thing is, he is a character out of an old black and white movie, who was somehow pulled into reality... although he is still in black and white.
  13. Thank you so much for this! I have claimed a few names from these lists: Lord Arcane Dark Rook Dreadzone Quillfire Micro-Man Lionclaw
  14. A recently returned Virtue vagabond... Had characters all over the place, between villains and heroes: Miss Novastar Captain Novastar Gypsy Witch Shade Silhouette/Jazzy Shade Jesse Ryan Moondancer and quite a few more that I just can't recall. Now residing on Everlasting.
