  1. Back on live someone once paid me 400 mm instead of 40 mm. That must have really stung. I've added an extra zero a fair number of times as well. I suspect that it's averaged out by now. It would be nice if the auction house could have some kind of warning to stop this.
  2. Not only do you get to punch Nazis but you get to punch more than one type of Nazi! Brilliant!
  3. I just realised. You nerfed my brain.
  4. My brain is now locked in this loop: But what do they have in common? Do people curl ovens in pyjamas? Fool! They have nothing in common. But why the inside of ovens. Why pyjamas? What do they have in common? Still nothing fool. Snap out of it. Ok. Ok. It's just internet drivel I get it. ... But why curling? What's he got against curling? Aaaaaggghhh!
  5. According to Mids', this power takes PBAoE sets. The very rare set for this is Armageddon. (Note that I haven't checked this with an actual toon.) I think the rule of thumb is that if its single target then it's a "melee" power and if it affects multiple targets but you don't need to pick a target then it's a PBAoE power. Mids' reborn is very handy for checking this sort of thing and for planning builds.
  6. I also wonder if those who hold a lot of inf are willing to spend more to by any particular IO. I would hazard a guess that it does. @SwitchFadedoes "consumer confidence" leading to increased spending constitute inflation? (I'm a bit out of my depth here.)
  7. I only have a handful of toons and they're all completely different. They certainly look very different. I like to create something I haven't done before and then level it to 50.

    ATO Swap

Welcome to Club Ebil. (Dammit. There goes my profit.)

    ATO Swap

My world just collapsed. I thought you knew the price of everything off the top of your head. 🙂
  10. I guess that those who hoard inf are effectively removing it from the economy and therefore reducing inflation.

    ATO Swap

I think misunderstood Yomo's comment. I think he was joking that @Techno was asking us to do his homework. Still, the more I think about it, the more I should have just said "of course I'll be happy to help. Please send me your ATOs while I roll around in my inf pile. Do you have any friends who'd like to swap the brute ATOs.".

    ATO Swap

The Brute sets are more valuable than the scrapper sets and the sell quite quickly. If you list the superior Brute ATOs for just over 17 million each then you'll sell them for 18 or more. You can buy the scrapper ATOs for 9 million each and catalysts for 3 million each. After you've paid the auction house fees you'll have made 4 million inf for ATO giving you a total profit of 50 million. If you still want to go ahead with a swap then I'll be happy to help.
  13. Exactly. If you have altitis and you want to create lots of fully specced 50s then leveling is no longer the limiting factor; generating inf is. I suspect that this is a minority sport.
  14. What sort of enhancements are you planning to put on them @BasherBot?
  15. Thanks again for all the answers. They've been a joy to read.
  16. It's interesting how the definition of "worth something" depends very heavily on what content you play and personal taste. I mostly do missions of one kind or another and sell just about everything in the AH. It gives me a nice change of pace before going off to do a few more missions.
  17. Playing converter roulette and working out whether individual drops are worth crafting are both quite time consuming. If you'd like to do a bit of trading without spending much time on it then you can just focus on crafting a single item. Find something desirable, buy a few recipes at a time at the lowest level, craft them and sell the IOs. It's very low risk and low effort because you always know what salvage to buy and what the usual prices are. There are quite a few niches with 100% profit margins. With margins like that, you don't have to worry much about changes in salvage prices, auction house fees etc. There are a few things that can go wrong. The main risk point is when you start a new niche. It might turn out that the IO price is unusually high at the moment so check out the prices for a few days before starting. Secondly, be very wary about increasing your selling prices if the price of the IO starts rising. (As it will at the weekend) At some point it'll drop back down to the usual amount and you'll need to relist the last batch of IOs. Finally, don't invest more than 10% of your inf in a niche until you've got a feel for it. Start small with something like Thunderstrike. You'll make the odd mistake but on average you'll make so much inf that the mistakes don't matter. You can make a few million inf a day for about 10 minutes effort and virtually no stress.
  18. Awesome! I'm going to be laughing about this all day.
  19. I think this is pretty much correct. There are a couple of other characters to add. "Barbara" is a farmer with altitis. She's spends inf like water so she's currently broke. She needs a LofG for her new build. She sees that they're currently selling for 9 million but offers 10 million because she wants to get back to farming. After all, 10 million is only 5 minutes of her time. Less if she gets some nice drops. Jenny's had a good day. She just dinged 50 on her blaster. She thought she'd run a quick ITF before doing a respec. Amazingly she got an Armageddon Proc drop. She crafted it and sold it immediately to some nutter who paid 75 million. Awesome! Tommy comes along. He's saved up 150 million inf to buy a full set of Armageddons. He goes to bid for the proc and is horrified to see that they're selling for 75 million. He knows that purples usually sell for around 25 million so he bids 24 million and logs out. A few days later he logs back in and finds that he bought the proc for 24 million. He notes that there are now 38 for sale and prices are back around 25 million. He wonders why anyone would pay 75 million for a proc that they could have had for 24.
  20. We saying that the patch will drive inflation rates down. We're defining inflation as an increase in the average price of IOs. i.e the cost of an entire build rather than the cost of any one specific IO. IIRC Jimmy stated that this was the point of the change. We don't know what the rate of inflation was before this change was made so we cannot say whether the overall effect will be that prices rise more slowly, stay the same or even start to fall. It takes time for inflation to affect prices appreciably. I'm thinking of months not days.
  21. ... or the GM follows you around for an hour. If you enter a mission map it sits outside smoking a cigarette and checking its watch from time to time.
  22. I'd love to know how much inf enters the game and where it ends up. Perhaps the monthly activity stats could include: inf generated from drops inf generated from vendoring inf spent on P2W vendors number of Hero/Villain and Winter packs purchased AH fees median and mean values of inf held on active accounts total inf on active accounts (which would also indicate inf lost to inactive accounts) As others have said, it's probably impossible or undesirable to report all this but I'd love to see it.
  23. On HC I'll sell a high level recipe for an item I actually want in my build because laundering it through the AH makes it both cheaper and attuned. Jimmy pointed out that the goal is to move inf from high level to low level toons. It seems to be working well but it does seem a bit odd.
